Twins arent as cut and dry as people think they are, just visit the twin boards...we know we have di/di twins (they have their own placentas and own sacs) but since they are same sex they could still be identical but we wont know till after they are here..just wondering if anyone else thinks they look TONS alike already though....first two are of B and other two are of A...

personally I think their noses look different but they definitely have the same mouth definition.. they are beautiful! great pics! x

From my understanding identical twins is from one egg the split and faturnal twins are from 2 eggs they should be able to tell in ultrasounds from what I've been told

I was pregnant with mono dI twins so were identical and only shared on placenta and one sack due to the.way the egg splits with identical twins.

I was under the impression that separate sack and placenta meant they were not identical.

thanks hun! I just wish we could get a perfect same shot of profile or face on for each...even just a slightly diff angle makes it hard to tell...my next appt is in 2 weeks so maybe then haha

you can have di/di identicals..its all about when the egg splits..the earlier it splits the more separate they are and they will be di/di and then typical identicals are mono/mono

Here is a good pic to explain the diff types of identicals

My twins were in their own sacs with their own placentas but if you haven't been around them for awhile you can't tell them apart. They look identicle. Someone mentioned to me about mirror twins but i'm not sure about it

Mine were mono di the most common of identical but the did think they were mono amniotic with same sack with no membrane wall to stop them intwinging.
Can the doc not tell you what they are?

They look pretty similar to me. But when I compare my ultrasound of this baby to the u/s pics of DS, they look identical too.. and they're nearly 2 years apart, lol!

I know 3 sets of twins (all adults) that are not entirely sure if they are identical or not!

since they are same sex they only way to really tell is to wait till they are born...

Here's a picture of my not identical but look identical twins as babies. Its very possible for them to look very very similar but be in different sacs with different placentas. They even switched classes for a whole day in preschool this year (they have different teachers) and no one noticed lol

cute babies ash211!! :)

yeah im sure they will look very alike from your 4d scan pictures even if they aren't 'identical' in terms of how they were inside of you.. there are obvious similarities xx
