Hi

Had my 28 week growth scan and she is measuring behind nor even reaching the bottom line on the graph.

So had steroid injection yesterday and got to go back today for 2nd injection to help mature her lungs incase they need to induce me early.

Back in a week for cord to be checked is working fine, which it was yesterday and then back the following week to check growth. From there they will decide on weekly scans or fortnightly scams.

I think they just being over caution and all will be fine but can't help but worry.

Any similar experiences people want to share?

Are talking the bottom line they call the OK zone as in under the 10th or way down off the charts like under 0.2%?

All thru my 2nd tri they said my boy was too small and his abdomen wasn't growing as fast as the femur and cranium. He also had dangerously low fluids, at 28+6 they put him at just over 1lb and my girl at 2.5lb. All they they said she was completely fine. I had dopplers and fluid measurements done twice a week from about 26 weeks. I was monitored every 6 hours when I was in hospital and was never home more than 2 days. I had already had steroids at 23+6 weeks when they first saw his fluid levels had dropped and I had contractions for 10 hours. Cord flow to both babies was always fantastic, couldn't see any issues with placenta just my boys cord had implanted right at the edge. They were just hoping they could get me to 32 weeks but his HR was always strong and stable, lots of movement so they let me continue with close monitoring until I went into labour at 34+1. After all this stress and worry my boy ended up being the bigger twin. He was on the 12th and she was on the 6th and now I have to have growth scans in this pregnancy because of my girl being on the 6th when they said she was fine in utero!

my eldest was born on the 6th centile line.
It wasn't spotted until I was 34 weeks that something wasn't right.
my bump hadn't grown in a month , it measured 29cm at that point. I was sent for a scan a week later which showed he was measuring 3 weeks behind, the cord and placenta had started to fail, so I ended up having the steroid injections on the Monday and Tuesday and then induced on the Thursday when I was 36+4.
I have to have growth scans with this one as he has already started falling behind in his growth, his legs are 2 weeks behind. I have a growth scan at 28, 32, and 36 weeks. my consultant has told me that its pretty luckily they'll have to get him out early.
your in the best hands. it's important they do all the checks for safety of baby, the cord is it's life line pretty much. i'm sure it will all be fine.

My last baby was completely off the chart too

I had regukar growth and doppler scans to check placenta Nd cord were functioning, but I wasn't offered steroids.

I think they like to keep them in as long as possible if you are getting lots of movement and placenta etc is ok
