Has anyone experienced this? I was laying on my right side enjoying some nice baby movements when all of a sudden I felt rapid kicking for about 2-3 seconds - almost as if the baby was tapping his feet really fast or having a seizure. It was only against one spot of my belly. Any thoughts ladies?

The same thing happened to me around that time.. I think it happened a few times and then it didn't anymore. So far everything is good and I am waiting on baby to arrive.

Yes baby has done this with me a few times - am pretty sure it's normal. Just baby getting over excited and having a crazy dance! xx

My last baby did that a lot. It's totally normal. I remember thinking he was having seizures too, but he's 4 now, and totally fine!

I got this quite a lot in later second trimester with jack, i made a thread asking the same thing. He stopped doing it as he got bigger/less room to move around like that! Everything was fine
x

My baby does this my whole belly goes into shaking frenzy for 10 seconds.

I had this a lot all the time with my DD, to the point that I was completely paranoid about having an epileptic baby (my aunt is epileptic, so I thought it just ran in the family!) She's totally fine, no seizures at all and she's 13 months now!

I did notice that after she was born for the first 6 weeks or so, she had a lot of those "startle-reflex" moments and I wonder if they're related in any way. The Moro reflex is what you see babies do when their arms stretch out and fall suddenly and they sort of jolt/panic for a second. It looks exactly like the "seizures" in my belly felt!

Me too! I thought it was a seizure until I remembered that it was also happening in my last pregnancy. It also happened after birth..sudden jerky movements. Pediatrician told me it was normal!

This is funny, I said the exact same thing to my prenatal specialist the other day, I told her it feels like the baby is having seizures in there and she it is normal, ladies ask her about this all the time. Just normal fetal movements, don't worry about it.

I have something similar but don't think it's the baby. I think mine is a part of my uterus spasming.

My last ds did it and did it for a while after he was born. It was very strange.

Very normal. Baby doesn't have much control over its limbs when it's born. Let alone at this stage of pregnancy.

Thanks ladies, it hash't happened since. I'll be sure to mention it to my OB on Tuesday :)
