HI Girls,
As the title says, me and DH have our 2nd appt on 5th Jan - I have had CD3 and CD21 bloods done, 2 ovarian scans (both normal) and HSG (tubes a little swollen, but no blockages, and normal result given)
DH has had SA done (was also done about 3 months before, and all was normal)
Me and DH have a 17 year old son between us, and will both be 37 in the new year, we have been ttc no 2 for 20 months now, and really don't know what to expect at the next appointment - will I be given clomid, or will I qualify for IUI even though we already have a child????
Any advice appreciated
Thanks

Maz xx

Hi Maz,

Can't really help you as I'm in the same position in you...appointment and test-wise. I haven't had a child before so you are an unusual case in that sense but I am sure that you will be given the same priority treatment as you have been trying for a while and are still young enough.

Please do let me know how you get on with your second appointment as I have mine a week after yours!

Hi Hun,

I will def keep you posted as to what they say - I just know I will break down in tears if the consultant suggests we just carry on ttc and come back in 4-6 months. It's such a long time to wait

I will let you know what happens - I know people on a different ttc site have said that I might qualify for IUI as my son is over 16 years old, but it differs from each PCT, so not sure. We are being seen at the Birmingham Women's Hospital, and they have their own assisted conception Unit so not sure what the will do. I am just counting the days until the appointment.

Will keep you posted Hun

Ohmigod that would be awful if your consultant did that...I too would breakdown and go beserk..there is no way that I am just going to go away quietly after pushing, and shoving and shouting to be seen by a specialist since May last year and finally my GP referred me in August and I got my first appointment in October...done all the tests so will see what happens now!

I know - I have to be strong and fight my corner too, but will be upset if we don't get offered any help :hissy:

I feel for you too. I feel like i will jsut get sent away wit hte old just keep on trying routine. So far they dont seem to concerend with my results but i have yet to have HSG and hubby to give his sample too so something may show up on that. How i look at it is i have NEVER used the MHS for anything and have worked all my life and paid my fair share of NI so i am entilted to as much investigation as is required. DONT let them just tell you to go away and keep on trying. I think deep down a woman knows if something is wrong just make sure they help you get the baby you want xx

Hope your pct help you lovey. The one I'm in gives 3 go's at IVF, if you are under 35 and neither party has children. Hope thats not the case for you. Good luck

Unfortunately, both me and DH will be 37 in the new year, and we have a 17 year old son together, so that's me out of the running for IVF unless we go private, but we just can't afford to do that. I am not sure what they will suggest, or whether we could possibly qualify for IUI - not really sure at all TBH. Thanks for your reply and good luck to you to

OMG Sinead - I didn't realise you were pg :happydance::hug::hug:
Did you get there naturally, or have you had treatment now?
Was it anything to do with the CB trial - I have ordered a CB monitor - got my test sticks today - just waiting on the monitor now

I am sooo pleased for you Hun :yipee:
