Thomas was born three weeks early, but we seem to be having some problems feeding him. When he's hungry he screams, but after 10-20 ml he's ready for sleep again.

We have tried tickling his feet, stripping him off etc, but it doesn't seem to work.

So he's fed less but often.

Does anyone have any tips?

How is his weight? His doesn't seem like an overly small amount. His tummy is likely to be very small still and some babies jus aren't as hungry as others. If his weight is OK, its likely to be fine.

When Dd didn't take much we were advised to nappy change part way through to properly wake her up. This never helped us as shed either then throw up what shed had or refuse to go back for more anyway but e awake! However I know people who this has worked well for.

He was born 7 lb 12, and a week later was weight by the midwife and had lost 5% of that.

We tried changing his nappy, sometimes it works and others he won't open his mouth.

What's strange is sometimes will take a bigger feed, like tonight he's had 50ml.

my son was born 4 weeks early and was just like this. the first 2 weeks he took anywhere from 10-60 mL. Hes now eating 4 oz every three hours! lol. our babies were early and get tired very easy hun
