3/5 engaged at 34 weeks.

Hi ladies,

I had my 34 week midwife check up yesterday and my baby is engaged at 3/5. does anyone know if this means i'll deliver early? I've been having period type cramps for the last few days too and sharp stabbing pains both quite low down.

Hi there

It depends if they meant 3/5th in the pelvis or 3/5ths out of the pelvis first off as every midwife uses different terminology.

Also baby can move back out as well - mine has !!!

A lot of women don't engage until right before labour so there's no worry.
More annoyingly being engaged fdoesnt mean baby will come early it just means the position is good and things are coming along.
