Even though I can drive and walk, it bloody hurts to do so
well driving is fine but walking still hurts as my back is sore from holding such a big baby bulge but my scar still aches and it hurts to get up in the morning

my scar is looking good, barely noticeable and great but i am mega pissed off that i cannot exercise or even walk outside for a long time yet
will i have to wait three months until it stops hurting and I can run and go to the gym again? I just want to take my baby out in the pram but its agony getting the pram ready and just walking baby, should I give it another three weeks then see the doc????
i was told not to exercise for six weeks by midwives in hosptial

i wish i could be like those other women who can run and exercise two weeks PP and have no baby belly or marks, gosh my belly wont go until Christmas by this rate

My belly was sore for months.. It still ached to touch after 6months! And I only started being able to do things like sit ups around 8 months

Xxx

hi, be careful with driving, its if you have to do an emergency stop, also using the pedals puts pressure on your scar thats why it is probably sore, in the uk you are not insured in your car if anything happens, if you drive within the 6 weeks post section xxx good luck i hope you feel better soon xxx

thanks ladies, its good to know that its not a six week standard thing
I need to accept waiting three months before i can go to the gym and up to nine or twelve months to feel normal again, obviously it will take a good nine months to lose the baby weight anyway and my hubby loves me the way i am, i just want my uterus to shrink, its so hard and bouncy :(

it will in time dont exercise until your 6 week check, it you do to much to soon, it takes longer to heal, trust me i know lol im a midwifery assistant and ive had 4 sections and due my 5th in aug, let your body heal, it will tell you when its ready to exercise xxxx

I never had a 6 week check, I'd love to know why I'm the only person in the world who never even heard of one, nevermind got one lol. I was told they dn't bother sying 6 weeks for driving anymore as it's not necessary, I was told "drive when you're ready but check with your insurance co first". I called them and asked what their policy was on c sections and they said they didnt have one I could drive whenever.

As for when does it stop hurting, I'd love to know :( I'm 16 weeks pp now and have been to the drs three times about the pain. As the scar looks good, no weeping etc they're stumped. I can't walk far and I can't carry much at all...including baby's car seat which is a pain in the arse. I realised enough was enough when I winced with pain pouring milk on my cornflakes because it hurt to lift it :( Anyway I'm booked in for an ultrasound to find out what's wrong, she says unfortunately if it shows nothing I'll be like this forever :( I'm currently taking co-codamol a few times a day everyday and still get the odd stabbing pain and shriek! :(

Mrs G.....Oh we advise all our ladies not to drive or exercise for 6 wks (only very light exercise aloud) maybe this is y u havent heeled properly yet, very strange they told u it was ok to drive xx

Definitely take it easy if you are still in pain. I didn't find that the pain went away until about 6 weeks and even then my scar would feel sore to the touch. I would just rest and enjoy baby as much as possible. You will have plenty of time to work on getting back in shape after your body is ready :hugs::hugs:

I am probably the exception but it took me a little over a year to finally stop having daily pain from my c-section.

i am looking forward to the three month mark :D
its not the section that hurts, its the result of my horrendous spd during pregnancy, as the section pain is really getting much better, i mean yes its still painful but i am able to lift things now and by 12 weeks i am confident i will be able to assemble my wee girls stroller and car seat but the muscle separation has really stuffed up my body :(
sometimes it happens not just after sections but also after vaginal births, did any of you ladies have bad SPD? I know have a diastis recti :(
