30th Nov - day 1 of first round of clomid

Hello ladies,
My AF is finally here and I start my first day of clomid 50mg from tomorrow, a little excited but honestly more scared about the outcome. At the end of the day there is only 20% chance of a sticky bean come Christmas, so I am doing everything to get Santa to bring my present on Christmas Day. I really hope this does end in a positive outcome but have seen lots of stats on this website and not found that many with a positive first cycle...please tell me I am wrong!!

I was wondering if there is anyone else there about to start or have started clomid and would like to buddy up

hey there! just wanted to say good luck, i'm also starting clomid tomorrow. will you be taking it at night? I think I will to avoid the hot flushes etc that can come with it! i have read some success stories with clomid on LTTC forum, and a few ladies it's worked for the first time. let's hope it can be us i am unexplained and this is my 18th cycle TTC... sigh, still can't believe it's that long.

I am cd 13 on my first cycle of chlomid. I am on 50mg days 2-6. I had a faint line on my opk's on days 10 and 11, then nothing yesterday. Not sure about today as I have not done it yet, but not had a 'real positive yet'.

I took my chlomid at around 6 every evening. I have to say I didn't really have any side effects, although like you I was qutie paranoid about the hot flushes, hence taking them after i finished work. Everyone is different though.

Good luck ladies, I just took my first pill this evening just before bed and I hope there is no keeping me up all night To be honest with you I am not holding out much hope for this cycle as my AF is very scanty this cycle, never ever been like this before and there is minimal amounts of old blood coming through but enough to warrant to call it a cycle. Was telling OH today that the follicle would want a nice juicy endometrium not a dried and shrivelled 50 day old one but you can only but try.

I still can't get over that 5 little pills can "wake up the ovaries" its amazing how medical science figure this out, imagine if this was happening to us years ago?!

Pavementfan..18 cycles? how did you carry on? do they not want to do ISCI for you now? I think you are very brave, good luck to you too

a1b2c3 are you doing follicular tracking too? I have a scan booked in for next Friday, really hoping the little "M" pill works

nope, I am not having any scans, however, I am having cd 21 bloods every time.

I have to say, I dont' think I have ovulated this month, but will no when I get my bloods done. If I don't, then I guess it's on to round 2! Although I think I will also hassel my fs to increase my dose or something :S

Hi Ladies, I thought I would join you as I started my first round of clomid on 2nd December, I am booked to go in for an internal ultrasound on the 13th December, and I have been told not to try this month??? Have you had the same advice. Don't want to take a month off if my 'magic pills' are going to work!! So far no side effects.

Hi pink angel. I know that sometimes they dont want ppl trying on their first cycle until at least after the first scan incase you over stimulate and produce too many eggs which could result in a multiple pregnancy which could be dangerous. Every doctor is different and I also think it depends on your pct as well as the reason your put on chlomid to begin with. Good luck.

Am cd 9 took clomid 50mg cds 4-8, this is officially my 4th round but I got pregnant on my 3rd round but sadly lost the babies (twins) in October. So now I am back on the ttc wagon again and hoping for some luck this time and a bfp in time for Christmas! Good luck to everyone else and please try not to get disheartened if it doesn't happen first time, they say the 2nd round is often successful but for me it took 3 rounds. Side effects not been half as bad this time compared with last time, hoping that's not a bad thing! x

I have just finished my last pill for this round, wow talk about side effects. I realised its better to take the tablet with food and lots of water otherwise I was just feeling very nauseated. I got the hot flush and my junior at work thought this was quite amusing as I was just taking off layers whilst everyone else was wrapping up warm!!
So glad I have finished this round, now just to wait on the scan on Friday, hopefully there will be 2 follicles growing like crazy (I really want twins!! but will be VERY VERY HAPPY with one if I can)

Failed first cycle
