Hi, I'm new here just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Sarah just turned 36 last month and now TTC. On Day 12 of a reliable 26-28 day cycle (been charting since last March, never outside the 26-28 range so I think I have it down). Started BD'ing Sat probably too early but "just in case". I'm taking vitamins, using Robitussin, and have Instead cups.

Curious- do you BD every day the week you expect to ovulate, use OPKs, or go every other day? We tried again today but now I'm up in the air about tomorrow or to wait until Weds. I should if the timing is right this month ovulate tomorrow Weds or Thursday. And being 36 should I automatically assume problems conceiving or give it time?

I've never been on birth control... have had ovarian cysts but gyn gave green light for TTC. I seem to have them more on my left side. That's the only problem I see right now. But my age does concern me. Should I be more patient than the basic (try for 6 months then go to fertility specialist)? Should I go for the OPKs right off the bat or trust in the reliability of my cycle? Just curious your opinions!

Hi Sarah,

I think everyone has there own method.. but usually it's recommended you bd every other day until your opk is positive then you bd every day until u ovulate. which is like 24-36 hrs after positive opk. I don't think you should assume you have any problems your still fairly young give it some time if you get inpatient then you can see your doctor. I'm 35 and have been ttc for a year. Everyone's different! Opk's always help but if you trust your cycle then try that!

Good luck hope you get your bfp soon!
