.

does the whole day count? :baby: no seriously, the whole thing was a DISASTER!

Bad:
Flower girl showed up for rehearsal but not actual wedding, but was in pictures.
I made our wedding cake- it was 2 round cakes that were burned
I had a prom dress rather than a wedding dress because no one would help me try and get a cheap one- i would of been happy with a goodwill one
No one stood when i walked down the aisle
We had the reception where my family and his family wanted rather than where we wanted and it would of been free either way
I NEVER got the father daughter dance or to dance with my husband= i WILL always regret this :(
My Dh took our marriage license to the army and we never got it back
We went to a hotel for our honeymoon but it wasnt what we thought.
I ended up in the hospital on my wedding night and losing a twin :(

Good:
I got married and still married to the same DH
I found out i was having twins
My dad walked me down the aisle
I got married by my dad in my dads church

Thats about it. I wish i could re-do the whole thing.

oooo my goodness. I am crapping myself now.

If no one stood up, id walk back out and in again untill they did!!!

You poor thing. Why dont you re-do your vows but have a blessing instead? and you can re-do it properly???

xx

There were little things that could have gone better, the food could have been out quicker and been hotter, the pics could have not gone on so long etc, but in the grand scheme of things it was a great day so hey-ho.
The real bummer for me was that my priest who was not my parish priest but instead the new priest at my childhood parish church decided to use the homily as a political soapbox. It was around the time that Scotland was introducing civil unions and he decided to wax lyrical about the evils of this. This was after a huge amount of talk of fighting bigotry and bringing the christian faiths together as I'm RC and my dh is technically COS.
I thought it was entirely inappropriate for the occasion, especially when there was such a mixed attendance. The videographer was gay though and wiped it from record

trumpetbun- i would have too! what a horrible priest!!!

Our day was wonderful overall, but there were some things that didn't work out as I would have wanted.
- My parents, my mum especially, managed to insult and offend all of my friends, my husband and me within 5 minutes of arriving for the meal the night before and then continue to do so all the way through until the time they left the reception.
- My dad made me cry when I got to the reception and I ended up having to tell him to leave for a while and to just leave me alone. If I hadn't then the woman running the venue would have!
- The music for the ceremony didn't work!

I think you need to expect things to run a little differently from how you plan!

Beca

  • Table cloth on one table was dirty
  • Highchair was covered in jam
  • They said they would arrange fresh flowers to decorate, and didn't
  • I ordered a gluten free meal, but they didn't deliver and I didn't eat all day

Other bits too but they were the main things, especially my meal. :growlmad:
