Well girls this is my third an final pregnancy and the little madam has decided to stay breech and I'm booked for c section on Wednesday after 2 vaginal births :( tried ecv but failed! I'm really nervous and worried about a section on was wondering if anyone could give me positive stories to help calm my nerves xx

I also tried ecv, breech baby. My section is a week tomorrow. How did you find the ecv?

The pain was excruciating, nearly passed out twice tried 3 times and she wouldn't move :(

I had this happen with my 2nd baby she flipped breech last minute:( so disappointing . That being said I was sooooooo nervous about a csection. And it is Definately a different recovery than a vaginal birth which I had with my first baby. They will bring you into the OR alone to start with, to put the spinal in, lay you down and put a blue sheet up so you can't see what's going on. The anesthesiologist will sit near you and monitor your BP and your oxygen levels etc. if there is more pain meds or an adjustment needed to the strength of the spinal than he manages that. They will start the csection, and make sure you aren't feeling anything. They will then bring your partner in to sit by your head. Keep in mind your arms will be stretched out like wings. It's kinda a weird feeling. You will feel lots of tugging and pressure at certain points as they push down on your belly to get baby out. It felt like someone was up in my rib cage. But no pain just pressure. Within about 15 minutes (or so) baby will be born. And that will take your mind off of everything else. They will staple the incision closed once try have checked everything. They check ovaries etc. the whole procedure takes about 45minutes. And you will be in recovery with baby for about an hour where they monitor you etc. here in Canada they attach these braces to your legs, that pulse one after another, an they left these on my legs for 24 hrs which helps to prevent blood clots. This I had no clue about. Not painful in the least just weird lol.
Anyways all in all it wasn't an awful experience and thankfully you have time to wrap your mind around it all. Best of luck!!
I'm having another csection coming up in May. I'm not as worried this time since I now know what to expect.

I agree, it was really painful. "uncomfortable" it says everywhere on the internet/books... No I said. Like a massive Chinese burn. I also nearly passed out and felt sick. Tried 4 times, not budging! :-(

Thanks for your reply but it's so disappointing :( just worried about the recovery with a 2 and nearly 4 year old :( but guess she's got to come out some way xx

I'm having to do the same thing this time around. It is a juggle. Do you have anyone to help? The first week is the hardest, and then it gets better. At the time of my first csection I only had a 3 yr old. This time a 5yr old and 2 yr old. Not easy. Big hugs. Once you're given the ok to get up and walk around after your csection the better. Just take it slow.

Yeah my partner be staying off work until I'm feeling ok and my mam and sister will help out then :) xx

Oh that will be good then! Help is needed for sure, in the beginning at least;) I've also decided to freeze down a ton of meals so I don't have to worry about cooking.

After having an emergency section with my first daughter, i was advised it would be best to have an elective section for my 2nd. Which I had last Thursday :)

It was an amazing, yes painful but more relaxed experience than my emergency section. Everybody in theatre was lovely and talked me through every little detail, plus after being put to sleep during my first, I was adament that I would get to see my baby this time. I did and it was one of the best experiences of my life.

Recovery is hard as I have a hyper two year old, but every day I am feeling better and stronger. My partner has another week off to help look after everything, my baby daughter is a really calm baby and apart from changing her bum, I have managed every other aspect of her caring myself.

Good luck and don't panic, enjoy the recovery time with your new babe (i've had more cuddles than ever before) :) x x

I just had an ECV yesterday at 37+2, and mine failed. For me, it was a little uncomfortable, but not painful. I had an IV and they gave me medication to relax my uterus, then tipped me somehwat upside down and tried 3 times. The baby moved some, but would not flip.

It's our first baby, and I had been determined to have a drug-free natural birth, so I'm a bit upset at this point to have to schedule a section instead. I know having a healthy baby is the most important thing, but I'm still very disappointed with this outcome.
