Hi ladies,

Didn't think I would ever be posting in this section but here I am.

Bit about me, I'm 38, (just, was 38 in March), partner is 42, and we have two daughters, Scarlett 4 and Daisy 2.

Before our girls we lost twin boys at 24 weeks on Xmas day 2010. Both born alive but died 8 hours later :cry::cry:

So last year with the girls growing up and me approaching 40, we decided to have No.3. Just like all previous pregnancies I presumed a couple of months and I would be caught, but nope, 15 months later still nothing.

I know 15 months is nothing compared to some ladies but it's really getting to me. I've been doing OPK's every month and get my positive (clearblue smiley face), and we dtd day before positive and 4 consecutive days afterwards.

I've bought Preseed because I read so many good reviews about it. But that's not worked neither. We are both on our conception vitamins too.

If I go to the doctors, I'm in the UK, what is the first thing they will do? Do they send OH for a sperm test? I did go to the doctors about something else a while ago and kind of mentioned it in conversation, thinking my weight would be an issue, I'm not massively overweight, I'm 5ft 6 and a UK 16, but he said the only time weight affects conceiving is if it's affecting my ovulation.

Sorry for waffleling on, just don't know what to try next. OH is of the opinion if it doesn't happen it's not meant to be and we have the girls, so he doesn't really want to get into the whole doctors thing. But Im So desparate for another one, I just don't feel done yet.

Anybody else in this kind of situation, any tips/advice?

So sorry you are going through this. My husband and I have been ttc for 13 months and it's killing me. We have no childen together but DH has 2 teenagers. I've had 2 very early losses since we've been ttc.

I'm in the US but I'm guessing the doctor will do typical fertility testing. Test hormone levels, ovarian reserve, sperm analysis. May do a transvaginal ultrasound and an hsg to make sure tubes are clear and uterus looks normal. Hope you get some answers! I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility meaning they did all those tests and can't figure out what's wrong.
