Hello ladies, wasnt sure where on the forum to post, but this seems the best probably.

I have quite a bad phobia of birth to the point the midwife and HV referred me to a consultant for an elec section.
After weighing up the pros and cons for both, i have decided to go naturally, but obviously i'm terrified.

I was just wondering if anyone has any third birth stories, i keep hearing horrid things about third labours, and im trying to prepare myself a bit, but hearing some positive ones would be fab. Are they really that bad?!

Hii :)
My third labour was identical to my second. 1.5hrs long, a couple minutes of pushing. It was slightly more 'controlled' as I had extra fluid so a consultant had to break my waters and then there was meconium so was constantly on the monitor. Was put on pitocin straight away but taken off it completely, very quickly, as I was contracting too fast!
The midwife did say the third birth is a wild card, but mine was absolutely fine! And the only one that I didn't tear at all!

Good luck, I'm sure yours will be easy peasy ;) xx

My third was my easiest and fastest
First labour was 13.5 hours and epidural
6 hours wS second labour epidural
Third labour I got to 6cm before even having any pain relief and then went to delivery
I was on delivery less then a hour and my baby was born on gas and air try not worry Hun x
I was cut with first labour tiny graze the second time and not so much as a graze on the third time X

My first labour was 13 hours, including 2.5 hours pushing then episiotomy.

Second labour started with my waters going, then contractions started 2 hours later followed by 2.5 hour labour, including 20 minutes pushing. Had a small tear with a few stitches.

I was also worried about my third as I felt is been too lucky with two good deliveries under my belt.

Third labour, my waters went at 4am and 6 hours later there were still no contractions. As we headed home for a rest and induction booked for later that night, the midwife said third babies can be the troublesome ones - great! Another 6 hours later contractions started, and after a 1.5 hour labour my little girl was born in the pool with no complications and just a small graze requiring no stitches. It was lovely and far far from a troublesome birth.

I was induced with first and third babies so that's what made them worse than my second. They left me too long on the ward and I was in pain. With my second I had access to gas and air right away! Other than that the birth was great. Good luck sure you'll be fine x

Thank you everyone. I'm hoping to have an epidural, I didn't get a chance either other time, just to feel a bit more in control. But every positive story makes me feels much better :D

Haven't had a third yet but just wanted to say good luck and hope it all goes smoothly :flow:
