4.5 mths and suddenly a terrible latch

One of my twins has developed a terrible latch. It's like she is being lazy- hardly opens her mouth - and if she does she slips off and does a tiny mouth. I gave managed to avoid cracked nipples etc for 4 mths so this is very frustrating!
Any tips.

Could she be teething? Her gums may hurt when she nurses.

Mine developed a bad latch for about a week when she cut one of her top teeth. She ended up latching properly again after several days.

Possibly, funny you should say that I did have a look. I couldn't see anything but with dd one day there was nothing and the next day she had teeth, so a definite possibility!

That's how it's been for us for 4 out of 5 of Josalyn's teeth! Lol, her fifth tooth is the only one I knew was about to come through, and that was because I could see her gum was different there!
