5 weeks 4 days with High HCG and no heartbeat yet

hi there. After I posted about brown spotting I decided to go to the ER. They did ultrasounds and saw the yolk sac but no heartbeat yet. My HCG levels were 16516. The ER doc said with that high of a count we should have heard a heartbeat but everything I’ve been reading says differently. Has anyone else experienced this?

I’m not sure on such a high count but everything I’ve read usually points to around 6 weeks for a heart beat to be detected. I know your not far off 6 weeks but such massive developments are happening every single day .

Are you going back for another scan ?

Thank you for responding. I made an appt with the OB for Friday morning. I didn’t have any spotting today so that’s good and I don’t have cramps. Hopefully that’s all good signs.
