Advice please ladies!!!
My son was an absolute dream to wean so I am so confused right now & finding it really hard!

I started weaning my daughter at 5.5months, I do traditional weaning, she keeps sticking her tongue out and clamps her mouth shut so I can't get the spoon in!
I left it a week and tried again but the same thing happens. She cries & turns her head away, clamps her mouth shut or uses her tongue to push the spoon away!
We've tried baby rice, pear, banana porridge, broccolli, sweet potato, carrot, apple!

I really don't want to go down the BLW route (personal choice!) so has anyone experienced anything like this and have an outcome that doesn't involve BLW please :)

Thank you xx

She's probably just not ready yet. My LO didn't eat anything until she was 8 months. I would just offer her something a couple times a week and if she doesn't take it then don't worry. She'll eat when she's ready.

There's a difference between BLW and being baby led. It sounds like you need to be baby led about it - you can still do TW but let her guide you. I agree that she doesn't sound ready so just try something every few days and let her reaction be your guide as to when she's ready.

My was is also 6 and a half months and he also isn't really interested in food. I make all my own food and he much prefers to BF. I can sometimes get him to take a table spoon or two of baby rice mixed with breast milk but after two spoonfulls, he spits it out. I asked the health visitor and she said that he is just not ready and they will not be worried until he reaches the 7months mark but to try him every day with food

Mine was the same as yours. I kept offering food everyday. Only now at 7.5 months is she showing an interest. She actually opens her mouth now and let's me feed her. She doesn't eat a lot and we are only doing breakfast and lunch but I've noticed a huge difference from how she was a month ago.
Try not to stress and just give it time. Anyway it's a lot easier with just milk feeds lol.
