DD has been taking 6 ounces for at least a month. Sometimes she leaves a little, maybe 1/2 ounce. She gets 5 bottles during the day and one overnight, so about 34-36 ounces daily. I tried offering her closer to 7 this am and she wouldn't finish it. According to that 2.5 ounces per pound of weight guideline she should be having 37.5 ounces. Do your LO's actually drink that much? Her weight gain slowed down around 4 months and it's even slower now. I'm starting to worry she's not drinking enough.

DD has increased her bottles a little bit the past month. She can now polish off a 6 oz bottle, but not every time. I would say she's averaging 25 oz a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. Today, for example, she only had 22 oz. And usually she doesn't need one overnight, it's all daytime bottles.

Do you mind if I ask what she weighs? DD is 15 lbs.

She's probably about that same weight actually. At her 6 month appt, she was just a few oz under 15 lbs. She's always been on the tiny side.

Did you start her on solids yet?

After 6 months old, the goal is 2-2.5x her body weight in pounds if your LO is currently at a healthy weight...

We tried a few weeks ago and she wasn't that interested (in purées or picking the food up herself) and then she got a virus so we took a break. I'll probably try again this week. At her last check she was in the 30th percentile and pediatrician was happy with her but it seems like her gain has slowed down even more. If the range is 2-2.5 ounces then she's somewhere in the middle. Maybe I'm worrying too much....

I think she's doing well! Did you try cereal or fruit or veggies? My LO wanted nothing to do w cereal, but he loved pear & carrots as his first foods.

I think she's doing fine too! As long as she's gaining, that's all that matters. Do you know how small you were as a baby? I think DD is taking after me, because I was a tiny baby and child.

I was Ok with how she was doing but now in almost 4 weeks she's only gained about 3-4 ounces. It seems like such a small amount?! I weigh her weekly or every two weeks. I got into the habit when we were BF with my supply issues.

Indigo, first we tried sweet potato and then banana. She wasn't impressed with either of them as purees or finger food!

Tweak, I think she is probably taking after me - tall and slim (well I used to be slim before her! lol) I wasn't a super chubby baby either, but I don't know if I was as slim as she is at this age. She's in the 90th % for height though. :)

My lo is almost 6 months and takes about 28oz a day. She has two spoonfeeds also. She weighs almost 17lbs. I worried about the guidelines but my paed told me not to pass any heed in them as long as baby was getting around 25oz a day.

My LO is 15 lbs 4 oz and her eating schedule usually goes like this:

-6 oz bottle when she first wakes up
-2 hrs after waking she takes a nap, then cereal and a 4oz bottle when she's up from her nap.
-Veggies & a 4 oz bottle for lunch in the afternoon
-a 4-6 oz bottle a few hours later
-a 4 oz bottle and veggies mixed with cereal for dinner
-6 oz bottle right before bed

Her pediatrician just recently told us to reduce her formula intake when she has solids. Before she started solids she was eating a 6 oz bottle every 3 hours or so. Sometimes we give her 2 oz of water after having solids, which was also recommended by her pediatrician. But she's not a fan of water for whatever reason!
