Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site and new to all these terms most of you are using. Anyways. My period is regular. Get it around 26th-27th every month. My first day of my last period was Jan 27th. Now Im 6 days late. I have never been this late before, except for when I was pregnant. I was told I had an yeast infection and BV last week. I did the Monistat1 the 27th and was told to wait with the antibiotic cure for BV til after my period. Now March 4th my period is still nowhere to be seen. Can I be pregnant? I did take HPT (-) on saturday when i was 4 days late, but could that had been to early to detect HCG??? Every where I read they say Monistat1 nor yeast infection or BV should delay your period. So now I'm wondering if I might pregnant. I do have lower abdominal pain, throughout the day. similar to pre period pain. light headaches, fatigue, feverish (no fever though), dizzy off and on.

(I should mention that I had intercourse around ovulation)
Tmw I scheduled an appt for blood test...lets see what happens. will post result here. But please anyone any advice??

Hi there sorry to hear you are dealing with all those issues all at once. I for one can sympathize with you about the BV. About a year and a half ago I had about 4 bouts of BV back to back and come to find out it was my mirena IUD causing it because once I had it removed I stopped having it. Anyways very off subject sorry about that. Honestly if you are that late you should have an accurate pg test by now. I think a small percentage of ppl get positive results much later but typically by 14 DPO you should have an accurate result. Perhaps the stress of wondering if you are pg or not is delaying your period. I hope I am wrong and that you are pg! Just remember there are a number of factors that can cause a delay in your period. GL to you!

I have never been on any type of BC. And never had a yeast infection nor a BV either. That is also why I suspect pregnancy. Online I read that infections are common during pregnancy. AND I have never been this late. I have very regular periods. Do you recall your doctor telling you that BV can delay the period? I asked my NP and she said NO. I hate waiting and not knowing :sad1:

Not to say you aren't pregnant or anything, but I do know that a vaginal infection can indeed delay your period. I was told this by my doctor very recently actually when I went to get treated for my first ever yeast infection. But, like you said, yeast infections are quite common in early pregnancy because of sudden hormonal changes. So, hopefully for you it is the latter :) Fx'd for you and baby dust!

Cross your fingers. What bothers me is that different doctors give you different answers. And after googling it I must say I found more "no it doesn't delay it" than "yes it can". But I will cross my fingers. I will have blood work done tmw, so hopefully I will know soon.

Sorry for your troubles hun. Everyone's body is different. Technically, getting your period is indicative that you ovulated. So, by missing your period you either ovulated later than you thought, you haven't ovulated at all yet, or you're pregnant. So, really unless you had your infection(s) before or around the time that you should've ovulated, then I guess the infection shouldn't be the culprit for your delayed period (we can only hope, right!!) But, then again, that's just my experience and knowledge about it. You see so many different situations from different people from google that you just end up stressing yourself out about it. I should know...I am the QUEEN of googling. lol. Will be watching for updates :dust:

LOL I too google everything, but yes you are right, Everyone is different. My point is that most people on the internet including doctors say that any infections doesn't delay your period. And you can be right, maybe I didn't ovulate. But I'm crossing my fingers. :dust::dust:

I have caught up on your posts and although I have never been told by a Dr. that infections of any kind can delay your period I think it can because it is a drastic change in hormone levels and all that good stuff. I know what you mean completely about getting different answers from different doctors, I guess it's more or less what they believe personally. Cant wait to hear the results from your lab work.

Neither can I. I want to know and I need to know soon. It is killing me not knowing why I am soooo late as I have never been this late before (except for when I was pregnant).

Will let you know tow :)

Blood test came back negative, my HCG level was 2. Still no period. The only good thing is that I started taking antibiotics for BV. So maybe the infections did cause a delay after all....

Question though, If i don't get it should I take another preg test in 1 week or should I just wait for my period to come...whenever that may be ????

I am 8 days late as of today....still cramping and fatigue.

Once your infection is cleared, I would give it a week. If still no period, then go back to the doc. You might need a pill to kickstart your cycle back up. And they can always give you a urine pregnancy test while you're there (just to make sure that you aren't pregnant). But I bet once the infection is gone your body will naturally go back into rhythm. The vagina is a kinda fragile place and any kind is infection can be very traumatic down there lol. Just give your hormones time to calm down.

if you dont get it, your late from the infections....if you would like your period to start and it has not just call your doctor and they will give you something to jump start it.....

i used to do this but now i just wait because it does eventually come back.....:)

Like I mentioned earlier I started taking antibiotics. Tonight I realized I used the wrong vaginal cream. I used Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide at 10am which is a cream for irritation but for EXTERNAL USE ONLY. a few hours later I started to bleed and thought to myself "here you are" (had no idea i had used the wrong cream) tonight like I said I realized I did. And now I'm freaking out. Are there any serious side effects for using an external cream? I have no discomfort or pain. And is what i thought was my period really my period or was the bleeding a side effect???

Im freaking out :( :( :(
