Poor sausage is slamming his legs up and down nonstop, farting and waking upset til it passes.

I know aptamil which is the milk hes on, has a high level of prebiotics which can cause bellyache but wondering if its also the frothiness causing wind problems. I need to shake the bottle as its the hungry baby which doesn't mix well.

Any suggestions apart from gripe water/dentinox to take the bubbles out? He's been on aptamil since birth then hungry since 8 week old. Tried him with sma recently but he wouldn't drink it (smells/tastes rank can't blame him) so can't really change at this stage

Have you tryed rolling the bottle instead of shaking? We use sma stay down and you have to roll instead of shake. It takes longer but it doesn't froth up as much.

Yeah rolling stirring etc doesnt blummen mix x

Does Aptamil have lactose and casein in it? It seems like more and more people are becoming intolerant or allergic to those.

It's cows milk based hun so is lactose x

I'm having exactly the same problem with Aptimil and considering changing to comfort milk.

Well we have 2 teeth today! May have been teeth all this time!

A lot of people I have spoken to re hungry milk said it gave their LO's tummy ache. My SIL said it constipated all three of her boys!

Does he need the Hungry Baby type, as I'd guess you've started weaning him. I know a lot of babies don't get on well with hungry baby milks... What you've described sounds like my lo at around a month old. Drops to remove the lactose from the milk fixed those symptoms but now your lo is 6 months I would have thought a lactose intolerance would have shown up by now...?

He's the same with first milk and follow on think I may just change hi to sma or Hipp x

My health visitor told me to stay on aptimal one until baby is one,she said theirs no need to go on to next stage

My health visitor kept on telling me the same for weeks! Just "wait it out" when my baby was obviously struggling with the wind and gas so for weeks I put off changing to comfort milk. The day I changed his milk he was better and I regretted not doing it sooner. They can only advise you but when your baby is struggling you should go with what your gut is telling you

No you don't have to change but follow on but you get boots/club card points with follow on and often they have it at a special price x
