I buy her loads just incase she likes a "different type of toy" and she just doesn't care for anything. I put her in her bouncer, her mat, her sitting ring, on my knee and everything lasts 5 minutes before she gets bored cause she has nothing to do! If she'd just play with something she might spend a bit longer doing things but no matter how hard I try she just won't. Anyone elses LO like this and what can I do!?

:flower:

my dd was the same she was 6 months at christmas time and didnt play with a single toy i was gutted i spent over £300 aswell all she wanted was the wraping paper and boxs i was not impressed, she didnt bother till she was 9months ish

you cant really do anything to be fair just have them out and when they want to play they will i guess. sorry cant be of much help but my dd is now 4 yrs old and changes from toy to toy all day long

Mine will be 9 mths and this is why the money is going in his bank account and he will geta few little toys - he does play but he gets bored very quickly - he lasts 5 mins in his cahor/jumperoo/play mat - the prob is he wants to be off but he can;t do it yet!

Most 6 month olds I know seem to be more into human interaction then toys at this time.

How about letting him play with household items like pots, wooden spoons, bottles with/ without water, cardboard boxes.... My lo can be amused by a crisp wrapper for ages! Much cheaper too x

Yep, I do know what you mean! However, we have found that household things are good, e.g. LO has discovered that newspaper can be ripped and crumpled (sp) and it does occupy a few minutes, also - rice in water-tight containers, wooden spoons, etc., and at the worst moments? Cheap fairy liquid bubbles -- it's silly, but it works!

best wishes

Yup, household stuff.

Have you tried your phone, remote control or lap top too?? My LO will literally lunge across the room to get to these items!
