6 month olds...

How much is your 6 month old drinking? Rylee has never taken more than 5oz of formula at a time and since we've started weaning it has gone down to 4oz every 3 hours. This doesn't seem like much especially reading about younger babies drinking more oz and more frequently. She is growing and thriving fine so I'm assuming it's ok, just want to be sure I'm not the only one lol

My LO is 6 months and we started weaning a week or so ago. She has 4x 7oz bottles in the day and sometimes one in the night - sometimes she sleeps through.

How many ounces does your LO have in a 24 hour period? I don't think they should drop much milk at this stage (I think it's okay to drop some but not a lot as its still the main source of nutrition until 12 months).

If she's taken to food and is getting a recent spread of things then she only needs around 500-600ml of dairy (incl. What she eats) after 6m.

Dd was never a great milk taker and got a lot of her dairy in food. Ds loved his milk but loves fromage frais more now. If shes keeping on target then shes ok

My LO is combi-fed (all bottle) but she's never taken more then 5 oz at a feeding. 2 weeks ago, she was averaging about 25 oz a day. She then got sick, and decreased her bottles. They're now 4-4.5 oz, usually more towards 4. We're also weaning, and have been for a month. She gets 1 solid meal a day, but never that much; maybe a tablespoon or so. As long as she's growing properly, I don't think it makes a difference. We had to bring LO in to the doctor a couple days ago, and they were happy with her weight gain so everything was good with her.

Okay thanks ladies! I decided to write down how much she's been drinking since 6pm last night, so far we are at 21.5 oz and it's 230pm so I guess I shouldn't be too concerned since she is having 2 meals a day (well bites of jarred baby food lol)

My boy is having 3 7oz bottles a day, but he eats three big meals and snacks, he loves his food and has gone off his milk now. I try and feed him dairy at every meal.

Charlotte was never a big milk drinker. At that age I'd say she had four or five 5 ounce bottles.

when Hadley was 6 months I think I had just upped her to 5 oz per bottle. I started solids right before that too. Even now she won't always finish 6 oz.

I give her yogurts and cheese now in case she's not getting enough milk. but funny enough she still takes 1 or 2 bottles in the middle of the night!
