So glad I've found such a forum where I can express my anxieties and worries. Today is 6dpo and I've had a positive opk on Day 13, Nov.17. And on day 16, just 3 days after (usually longer), I've had implantation spotting. Since that day, I feel nausea, tired, back pain, headaches, and once in a while being extremely extremely thirsty. I've researched online and saw that the earliest test I can do is 10 days past ovulation so I assumed that would be counting from Nov.17, and it came back negative.

I know I should wait till my actually missed period to find out but I really can't wait. My body is telling me in every way that I am pregnant. My period is not till Dec 3 and usually I would only feel back pain and headache one day before but now I've had it for nearly 10 days. I check my temperature everyday when I wake up and it has been on a rise for the last 5 days. When should I do my next test? What if it comes back negative again? I would be so disappointed. What if my temperature drops and my period comes? Sigh... too many what if's.

Could I be pregnant?

the answer is you could be pregnant but only time will tell...

when you read the packs of the early tests it will say something like 50% of women detected pregnancy 4 days early, 60% 3 days early etc...

every woman and every pregnancy will producee HCG at a different level and it might be that you just don't have enough to be detected yet.

You need a sensitive test, superdrug 10mIU seem to get pretty good press on here, and are more sensitive than FRER and CB...

Use FMU, test again in a few days, if you can then wait until :witch: is actually late, (easier said than done!)

Try and stay positive, I hope this is it for you!!

The spotting could have been ovulation spotting, if you got a +opk you can ovuate anywhere between 12-48 hours after it, its a precurser to ovuation not the day of ovulation. That could mean you are actually two days less dpo wise than what you think, maybe only 4dpo and way too early to even implant, even 3 days after ovulation when you say you got the spotting is too early for implantation, it would really be more O related. The best is to wait till af is late and then test. How long is you luteal phase normally?

6dpo is VERY VERY early. I'm not meaning to sound negative but that won't have been implantation spotting and at 3dpo quite literally COULD not have been. Your embryo would not be able to implant that early. Having just done a cycle of IVF recently I had embryos implanted on day 3 which would be 3dpo. I was told that they would not be able to implant for a good few days after that because to implant they have to be blastocysts and it takes 5 days (i.e. 5dpo) before an embryo becomes a blastocyst. It then takes a further 24-36 hours to burrow into the lining. That's when it's already in the womb. For a person NOT undergoing IVF it has to then travel down the tubes and into the correct area.

They say that implantation generally occurs from day 7 to day 10 but its extremely, extremely rare for it to happen earlier. You are talking about implantation at just 3dpo. The embryo is nowhere near implantable at that stage. It's impossible. Its only about 7 or 8 cells at that stage and does not have the capability for implantation unless you got your dates wrong and you ovulated earlier, that is. What you probably experienced was an ovulatory bleed.

You might well BE pregnant eventually on this cycle but there's no point in worrying when you're only 6dpo. You can wait. We all have to wait every single month. It's hard, but it's not impossible and worrying yourself silly isn't going to do you any good.

I agree with the post above ^ ... altough i do hope this is ur BFP this month! x

I have to go with WannaB on this one, she was right with my situation and low and behold I'm prego now. I would say that it was O spotting and to tweak your DPO to that and then test 14 days later. Sending lots of :dust: your way for that :bfp:!!

Hubby and I hadn't been trying, but had 1 night of reckless fun.... (sorry if TMI)

I had been nauseated for 2 weeks straight, tender breasts, what looked like implantation bleeding... so I tried taking a urine test 2 days before my expected period... came back negative.

BUT... I took another test when I was 1 day late... and it was +++++++++!

I know it is soooo hard waiting... but the tests won't pick up the small hormone changes until around the time your period is due... sit tight and eat well!
