7 week old pooping more often and cranky

Hi. usually LO would take a massive poo every couple of days. For the past 5 days he has been pooping twice or more times a day, smaller in amount. Sometimes it seems runny like diarrhea but I'm not sure if I'm just being paranoid.

He is not dehydrated but seems way crankier than. normal, very clingy and needy

There is a lot of pressure for him to gain weight (so the pressure leaks onto me to nurse him more) is this normal for an EBF baby to go through this?

At that age my LO was going multiple times a day but that was normal for her.

If you are feeding him more maybe its just passing through him quicker?

Or if he's cranky he could have a low level virus; even a cold can make them poop more than usual because they swallow mucous that they find hard to digest so it does straight through them.

Proper diarrhoea smells awful (like something died in their nappy!). Pooping twice a day isn't enough to dehydrate him unless he wasn't drinking anything at all.

that's normal. LO poo everytime he eats at the beginning! well.. sometimes he still does that and he's 3.5 months old

is he cranky because he's gassy? tired? still hungry? they all go through phases.. growth spurts.

yes, ebf can be stressful especially if it's weight related. especially if you're nursing because you can't "see" how much baby is drinking. But as long as he's pooping/peeing, he's okay
