This is my first post. We are on our 7th cycle and it has been very discouraging and frustrating. I have been charting my bbt for about 5 cycles and using opk's for most cycles. I always ovulate according to my temps and opk's. Since I started this journey I began to spot 4-5 days before my af would arrive. This is unusual for me. My cycle is normally every 26 - 28 days. Because this spotting was unusual, I got my thyroid tested. Everything was normal. So after 6 cycles of spotting we decided to try maca supplements this cycle to balance hormones in case that is an issue. My dh and I are both taking them. The maca gave me a lot of energy! But I got a positive opk on cycle day 7 (which was 8 days after i first started the maca). This is way to early for me. I normally ovulate between cycle day 10 - 14. My temperature never went up! I stopped the maca on cycle day 18 because my temps were even lower then they usually are. So I am now on cycle day 21, my temps are above my usual coverline, I have signs that I ovulated such as high bbt, sore bb's, sensitive nipples, I had intense burning sensation/cramping yesterday on cycle day 20 in the morning. So I am annoyed and confused. Can anyone offer any advice?? Did the maca mess up my cycle? I was taking organic gaia maca 1000mg which is not a very high dosage. I am wondering if my period is going to come late this month because of the maca. I have included a picture of my chart from this month.

Sorry you're frustrated...

Did you keep doing opks or did you stop after the positive? It looks like you didn't ovulate when you had the positive opk. It seems more likely that you ovulated somewhere between Day 17 and Day 19.

What happens if you add back in that lower temp on CD19? A dip on 2-3DPO is a normal hormonal thing, so I usually just leave mine in and FF does the rest. I think you'll get crosshairs tomorrow at any rate.

And maca will have an effect on your cycle. I think it has to do with changing the hormonal balance in your body. But, a later ovulation isn't a bad thing. More time before ov = more mature eggs that may have an easier time being fertilized.

Good luck!
