My sister has just done one egg retrieval round and then did genetic testing on the embryos. She is 44 her dh is 34. He has very, very bad sperm motility and that's the only thing they found on him (in a standard SA).

My sister's hormones are fine, ovulates fine, normal 28 day cycles, but....she's 44.

They just found out 2 days ago her dh's nephew was tested + for down syndrome (not sure which kind).

Does anyone have experience with this. Anyone have suggestions for her to ask their specialist?

Anyone have their embryos come back all abnormal and go.on to do it again with better results?

Thank you all. :flower:

Hi! This is so sad to read about what your sister is facing now.. I'm so sorry, but this happens. But I'm afraid i haven't heard of anyone whose embryos came back all abnormal and they went on. This is a challenging emotional roller coaster not only for the intended parents but also for a baby. So couples do this testing to find out and avoid such a possibility. I'm sorry this shot wasn't successful for your sister.
What if to try a few months later again? I mean prepare the organism better for the next cycle, take supplements, have more rest, doing exercising or whatever. The same is for her husband. To do this once again to see whether there is the chance for any improving.. I'm sorry if this doesn't sound soothing, but I really think she has to do another shot with testing. (Maybe with another clinic.)
Stay brave, be supportive to your sister as well as you can. This is so hard for her now to face all this. Sending you huge hugs. May God take care of you x
