Should start by saying Im not concerned or anything as Ive taken her to HV and she says she is just a late starter but just wondered if anyone elses LO isnt sitting up yet. She can manage about 20 seconds then topples. She isnt really pushing up on her legs either. On the other hand she is now waving and saying Ta-Ta when prompted (not all the time but quite regularly) so HV thinks she might just be a bit of a lazy baby and her general motor skills arent as advanced as others.

Is she the only one??

My friends wee boy is 2 days older than my LO and he cant sit unaided for any length of time or bear weight on his legs. He's fine though, just seems a little lazy lol xx

My 1st was 10 months too! Then ran at 12. I won't be surprised this time around if it takes just as long :)

My Claire started sitting at 7 months but is terribly slow doing anything else. She is now 9 months and isn't crawling or pulling up like most of the other babies we know her age. She is very intelligent and says "Mama", claps and waves etc. She just takes her sweet time doing anything else lol.

Don't worry! She will do it in her own time!

Aww the waving and ta-ta sounds so cute!!

I guess Daisy will just do it all in her own time. I know what it's like to wonder why they're not doing stuff though. Although Jack is sitting unaided that's almost all he does! I'm not sure if I'm just friends with people with randomly advanced babies, but two of my friends babies who are just 7 months and 7.5 months are both crawling and pulling up! Is difficult not to compare. But they are actually early to do this so I'm trying to remember that!

Our babies are perfect! Daisy is clearly just a clever little thinker - who needs to move when you can talk! <3

My LO can sit for a few seconds but that's all! She only started rolling this weekend just gone too! She is just lazy really but she's loveable like it!

Mine started sitting just after eight months; in fact, she crawled before she sat.

Lucas is only 6 months so I can't comment on sitting too much just yet but he still doesn't roll over. Honestly think he'll sit and maybe even crawl before he bothers with it, just to shake things up a bit lol x

My lo sat before he rolled! In fact he's 8 months on Saturday and he still only really rolls from tummy to back lol

Well, why bother when you can just cry for someone to come move you! ;) :haha:

Oh, I just talked to my HV about this today, since my LO sounds just like yours. I was worried because I was under the impression that all 8 month olds should be sitting pretty well by now, or it is a "warning sign." Anyway, I propped her up, showed her what she can do (sit unaided a short time, then goes down to tri-pod position, then gets bored and falls over) and the HV said that what my LO does is exactly what about 50% of the babies do. She says she only sees about 25% of 8 month old babies that sit really well, and she says the other 25% can't do it at all!
Made me feel a lot better. Real life experience is so much more dependable than the internet :)
