8 weeks pregnant-open cervix and spotting

I went to the doctor the other day concerned with light bleeding and back pain
They did an u/s. The baby is fine with a strong heart beat. But I was told my cervix is open.
All they could tell me was this is called a threatened miscarriage. She told me to take it easy
And come back in 3 weeks. From what I understand...an open cervix is a sign of an inevitable
Miscarriage. What are the chances of me carrying full term?

I am not sure about your chances of miscarriage however you should talk to your doctor about getting a cerclage.. Which is a stich in your cervix and maybe get you on progesterone tablets. Good luck Hun

Have you had a baby before? As after this our cervix never fully closes. X

I was diagnosed with the same thing at 4 weeks but my doctor didn't say whether my cervix was opened or closed. I was told to come back in 3 weeks as well and my appointment is Friday. Not sure what the chances are of carrying full-term but it can happen. I have read of stories about threatened miscarriages with positive results. Thinking of you.....
