I thought they were supossed to get shorter as baby gets older but my sessions are getting longer. We have gone from 30-45 mins to 45 min-1hr. He takes both breasts and I used to time for at least 15 mins (because at lc he took in plenty per side at 15 mins) but would let him pull off when he wanted, usually 12-20 mins per side but now he is going the full time plus 10-15 mins longer per side. He feeds 9 times per day on average when I add all up. He gets ebm on occasion. I am going back to work in 4 weeks and I wont have time in morning to nurse for an hour but when I pump I can't empty my breast and only get half feeding so I try to pump early am after feeding and once in afternoon maybe for freezer stash (i have 20-25 oz frozen). He is gaining 1.5 oz per day since birth so he sucks plenty out. Any advice?
active sucking is a few mins in beginning, then a few mins of hanging out, then more active sucking. this pattern goes on until hes done.
