My lg doesn't want to stand, she does if you hold her in the position to make her but she sits down after a couple of seconds. Shes not crawling on all fours yet but is almost there (gets in her hands and knees and bounces) also can move about shuffling.
She has met all her other milestones. So not worried theres something wrong as such, just she isn't standing? Anyone had the same? Tia! X

It just sounds like she isn't ready yet, she seems to be working on crawling and other important things right now an is far too busy with that! :-)

My little boy went through a phase like this. He could stand from very young, a few weeks old he was pushing his legs up and standing against us. Once he was focused on crawling he didn't want to do anything else but crawl and went through a phase of not standing anymore. I'm sure once her crawling is mastered she'll be onto it.

My 11 month old hasn't long started standing, it just didn't really interest her. Now all of a sudden standing is the best thing ever, as is climbing on the furniture! Don't worry x

If she isn't crawling yet, I wouldn't be expecting her to stand. Usually they crawl then start pulling up to stand (holding on to something) and then eventually start standing independently before walking or just after. I think that sounds perfectly normal for 9 months. Mine started to crawl at 8 months and was pulling up to stand and cruise 2 weeks after that. But she didn't ever stand independently (not holding on to anything) until she started to walk at 15/16 months.

Thanks for the replys! I was only worried as she has never really stood like if you hold her hands or if you lower her to the floor she puts her legs straight out as if she was sitting. I guess it will just come to her in time? X

I wouldn't worry. Kids do things in their own time and in different order. My daughter has been standing and trying to walk for over a month but crawling? She took forever. She's almost ten months and only started crawling last week.

My friend's nine month old is crawling all over but refuses to stand even if holding her hands.

She'll do it when she's interested in doing it.

My 9 month old doesn't pull up to stand either and when we walk with him, he tries to sit down as fast as he can. He mastered crawling a few weeks ago and is now focusing on a position that looks like the downward dog yoga pose.

My almost 1 year old has stopped cruising and stopped standing independently. He just drops to the ground or crawls. I think he "accidentally" took a step without holding onto anything yesterday though. Like your baby with standing, Leo will walk when he decides it's something he wants to do.
