I noticed this evening when I was stroking my 9 month old'school forehead that he has a very hard lump to the right of his forehead near the end of his eyebrow. It's pea shaped but is completely immovable and seems fixed to the bone. It's definitely new as in paranoid about lumps and would have noticed if it was there before today.

He has a lot of falls and bumps with him getting mobile but I haven't noticed him knock this particular area and he hasn't got a bruise like he would normally have

Anyone else's baby had a random lump suddenly appear and what was the outcome? Typical this would happen on a weekend but I will book a drs appointment next Monday if it's not gone by then.
He seems totally fine in himself other than this.

Update: Been seen at the doctors and she said it is a lump on the bone on the line of his skull. We undressed him and checked all his body and that was fine. They can't xray him because of his age but she said wait for 3-4 weeks and if it's still there then come back and they will refer to a specialist. She didn't seem seem overly concerned and said it could just be part of his skull and I have only just noticed it. I am obsessed with lumps, there is no way I would have only just noticed it!!

I hate finding anything odd like lumps. I understand the worry. It's likely nothing.. It's easy to think the worse though. :hugs: hope it goes away or you find out for sure what it is soon!!

Just to update, we went to the doctor again today and had a much better doctor this time. He said that with the lump being on the forehead he doesn't think it's anything sinister, but because it's so hard and immovable he's going to refer us to the paediatrics but he said that his gut feeling is that it's just a cyst.

Did it ever go away or does it stay?

I looked the other day and its like a teeny mark now that no one else would notice.

That's good :).Can't really see James' but does feel very hard under the skin.

Yes hisias like moveable bone. He was 9mths and they done an ultrasound on it so dont know why they said James was too young?

James' one is completely immovable like it's part of the bone. They can't do an xray because of his age but they will be able to do an ultrasound I would've thought they would be able to do an ultrasound. I don't know what the paediatrics will do.

Hopefully they will do an ultrasound on James just for peace of mind. So weird how it just appeared like that!

Do not have a clearer pic but this was his by his temple.

That looks like James' apart from James' is smaller.

I had a look today and couldnt find it lol it stayed till he was about 5 or 6 then got smaller x

That's good news then. Hopefully James' will be the same :)

We now have an appointment for this at the end of January with the paediatrics at the hospital. I'm not sure what they're going to be doing at the appointment but I really hope that it's not just a question session and then telling us to come back for yet another appointment. It has been going on long enough already :|

DD2 has something similar on her back. Had it for a few months now. Obviously very worried when seen it. Shes had an ultrasound at the hospital and apparently its just fatty tissue. Said it could either go or grow with her. Nothing to worry about unless it gets really big or starts bothering her. If so they will cut it out under general anaesthetic. So far it seems the same and doesn't bother her. We just take pics now and again to keep an eye on it.

Hope your little guy is ok .
x

Sorry you're going through similar with your daughter :hugs:
