Hi ladies

My boyfriend and I (he's 30 and I'm 25) have been trying to conceive since January. So far, we've had no luck, despite having intercourse regularly between periods (3-4 times a week) and using ovulation tests. My cycle has been no shorter than 27 and no longer than 29 days, so I generally have no reason to suspect that something should be wrong, and I know that it is normal for a fertile couple to try for up to a year to get pregnant.

Yet, it is very frustrating to be trying and trying and trying, and still not getting pregnant while everyone around me gets pregnant at the wink of an eye.
So I'm hoping someone who's taken longer than 9 months to get pregnant with their first child will share their story...

Hi there! I don't have an encouraging story except that my husband and I have also been trying since January with no luck yet. Like you, I hope nothing is wrong, but it is getting really frustrating when everyone around me seems to be conceiving. I'm 34 and really am eager to start a family!!

You're in the right place. My DH and I have been trying since December and really no luck. On here you will be able to see what is working for other couple and maybe give you ideas. For example, we are trying preseed this month. I didn't know anything about it until I saw several women talking about it on here. Good luck!

I didn't get a BFP for 14 months. We lost that baby and then it took another 9 months to conceive the one I'm carrying at the moment.
Unfortunately it is perfectly normal for it to take 12 months. For some couples it just takes a little time.
Hope you get your BFP soon x

Hi there

It took me and DH about 9 months start to finish to get our BFP due in 2 months ***eeeek****. I wanted to respond because we were using withdrawl as our bc method for almost 6 years before TTC so it freaked me out to no end that I was not getting that BFP. I personally logged into amazon.com and ordered a fertility blend tea that you drink every day (I did every other day) starting from the first day of your period and ending the day of your positive OPK kit. the first month we used the tea and had sex at the right time I got pregnant. It can take time and honestly it is the luck of the draw. Try doing it in the mornings or just changing up your bding routine. All I know is that the month I got pregnant, I injured my back so I was on a muscle relaxer mixed with the tea, so I think between the two, I was not as stressed leading up to o as I had been. I also think that sometimes as women we put so much pressure on ourselves (myself included) to get pregnant it can prevent pregnancy.

baby dust to you and I hope you get your bfp soon.

Hi there

I just wanted to post a quick reply.. Don't loose hope. It took my husband and I about 9 months start to finish to fall pregnant. Some of that-most of that- was timing. I used a fertility blend tea I found on amazon.com and fell pregnant the first month using it. We took a bit of a break the month before, though I did use it along with opks to see what effect they had on my cycle. the next month we dtd 4 days before o, the day of o and two days after, though I cant be sure because I never got a true positive opk. I am now 8 months pregnant and eagerly waiting for baby.:happydance::cloud9:

OH is 27 and I am 26 and we are going on 7 months now. I always thought at this age your man took his underpants off and you fell pregnant. Apparently not! x

Unfortunately no positive story here:nope: My DH and I have been TTC for 2 years (we started when I was 34). I've had regular cycles since stopping BCP (26-27 days) and had a CP on my 7th cycle (April 2014) but nothing since :( So it's perfectly possible for you to have regular cycles but still have issues conceiving. In my case we've been diagnosed with "unexplained infertility" which means the REs can't find the exact cause. Have had 6 failed medicated IUIs and have just started long protocol IVF for the 1st time this month (I'm in the process of downregulating).

I'd say if you still don't get a BFP within the next 3 months or so, then you might want to get your GP to test both you and your OH. That way if there is an issue, you can plan for what you want to do e.g if you'd be willing to do IUI or even IVF.
