So after going over by 15 days, I finally had my little girly! :D

I went into hospital on the 13th to be induced and was dead gutted when they told me I had to have a pessary because i wasnt dilated enough to just have my waters broken. They said it was gonna take like 24-30 hours before anything would happen. But then at 2am, after sleeping pills, I went into labour :) :happydance:

At 5am they broke my waters for me + i only managed until 7am with just gas and air, had my pethidine injection and then at 9ish decided I wanted an epidural. What a mistake! The guy who did it, missed the first time, popped a bag of fluid in my back the second time and then finally managed to get it right the third time.

After 18 hours, they told me to push but her head wouldnt come down so two hours later I had an assisted forceps delievery in theatre where they gave me a spinal injection which numbed me from the neck down, rather than the waist down. So even when I'd had her, I couldnt hold her :(

Ellie-Mae Louise Smith was born at 09:14pm, 14/08/12, weighing 7.15lbs :)

So after all that, they let me go home 24 hours after having her. Within hours i was rushed back into hospital with a dural tap. The guy who did my epidural has popped this bag of fluid in my spine, which leaked into my brain causing the WORST migrane and neck pains ever. I spent the week in hospital , not able to sit up. It was so horrible because I couldnt look after my baby, she had to go home with my parents for the week and only come in the day to see me. I couldnt change her, feed her or cuddle her :(

But after the week in hospital, Ive finally come home! Getting better each day, looking after my gorgeous baby girl properly now! Got to admit though, I couldnt of done any of it without my Mum or OH, they have saved me :)

Sounds awful about your epidural!): that's what scares me about them!!! everyones like 'dont be silly' and MIL thinks i'm a freak for wanting to try to go without one.
