Hi!
So my name is Sarah.

I found this group from another support group I have. Well I am having some issues and need a little support and help.
I have had PCOS since I was a small child but did not know until a few years ago. The medications made me very sick and hurt a lot of the progress Iwas making with personal health . Well earlier today, I went to the doctors because I havenot had my period since mid November. To find out, I am not pregnant. I actually have a bigger issue. I am not ovulating anymore for some reason. I know this is common with PCOS but my condition is scary because they no longer want to treat the issue as a whole but they just want to make the symptoms eaiser to live with. After hearing it for years, today the doctors officially said I will probably never have kids. My dream is to be a mom and at 19, I am having issues with this. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it greatly.

I plan on waiting to have kids but I want to start getting things taken care of now so it can be a possibility in the future.

Any advice or support would be appreciated!

I think I posted this in the wrong place. I'm still getting used to using forums. Sorry

It probably isn't in the best place, try posting in the TTC section as I'm sure a lot of the ladies there will have experienced issues with PCOS.

I have no experience of it so can't offer any advice other than keeping on at the doctors to explain why nothing more can be done. It must be heartbreaking to hear such news but I think you're doing a great thing by trying to address it now than waiting until you are ready to try. Sorry I can't be more help but there are many lovely ladies here who will be able to give good advice. Good luck!

Totally common and one of the most easily treatable causes of infertility. Basically they will give you a pill (clomid or a similar med) and possibly an ovulation trigger (which is an injection) to make you ovulate and then it should be pretty simple really, except you may also have to have an IUI (intrauterine insemination) to make sure the sperm get where they need to be.

I have PCOS and had the same fears as you, but I got pregnant on my second month with this treatment. I miscarried that pregnancy sadly, and had a D&C for the miscarriage....and then got pregnant (on my own, unexpectedly, without even trying) again three weeks later with my now-daughter.

That is something very tough to hear, but I hope you can get more than just one Dr.'s opinion on this... And yes, post on the TTC forum, you will get so many stories and experiences from other ladies, and perhaps you will shed some light and get options... And lastly...I know that we all hope to have kids of our own, and other roads seem so scary and out of reach, but if you do end up with no more options, please remember that there is always a way to become a mom. I wish you best of luck, and truly hope your dr is wrong.

Thank you so much for them advice. They won't put me on fertility meds because they way my pituitary gland is working. However, I am going to a neurologist to get approvalfor some other ttreatments. I'm hoping they appointment goes well
