Im writing this story kind of late but having a newborn and a 14 month old takes all my time.
since beginning i really wanted a vbac and some people (basically my whole family) didnt believe that i could do it because its only 13 months after my c section.
Now i know it is possible...
On friday september i had a sweep and was 2 cm dialated. i was almost 41 weeks so i already had a c section scheduled for oct 2 nd. nothing happened after the sweep. i felt cramps but that wasnt new. the doctor wanted me to come back monday for a check again because my amniotic fluid was low.

i went back on monday oct 1st. they did another sweep. Still same 2cm but i was having some small contractions. so they told me to ask the doctors to check me again the next day just before my c section. i guess they would let me labor if i was 3cm.

So i had contractions for the whole day and they stopped in the evening. i gave up. i thought it was not gonna work. my c section was at 3:30 next day.
At 10pm my family doctor called me! I was surprised that she called so late. she was telling me not to give up yet and told me to stop by her office in the morning so she will do another sweep. i got excited again. i even went for an hour walk at 11pm.
In the morning i got another sweep and i was hqving some irregular pains.
At 1 pm we were heading for my c section and i started having some regular contractions in the car.
when we got there i asked to be checked again. I was soooo happy i was 3 cm! Since i was having regular contractions they moved me to the labor unit. after 2 hours i was 4cm and they broke my waters. and then ooooo man i couldnt stand the pain.
after 2hours i gave in and took an epidural. it was like a heaven. it took about 4hours and i was 10 cm. i was so happy i couldnt stop shaking. and pushing took about 5min and she was out. my Amelia Elizabeth was born at 12:03 am weighing 6 lb 8 oz. shes perfect. and i feel soo good. its much better than c section. i would do it again!

Wow! I myself had a section with my son and am slightly entertaining thoughts on vbac for a second birth, so your story is inspiring! Thanks for writing it. And it looks like your dr was supportive, that must surely help a lot too. Many drs are not supportive of vbac.

Yes, i think that its most important to have a supportive doctor. that makes all the difference. with my first one i didnt like my doctor and after one of my appointments i was crying and wanted to change him but i was afraid because i was already 36weeks. i should have. i ended up with a c section which i know now was his fault because he didnt want to wait.
dont be afraid to change the doctor. Do whatever feels most comfortable for you and your baby.
you can do it!

Nice to hear such a positive VBAC story

I'm still undecided on whether or not I want to book a c-sec

Would LOVE VBAC but such horrible negative thoughts on last labour it scares me, just want my baby to be safe.

Did u try anything else to get labour going before ur sweep? Raspberry tea? Epo? :hugs:

yes. i did a lot of walking, sex every other night, spicy chicken with pineapple. Generally i was trying to move a lot. Since i didnt have a birthing ball, i was rocking on a rocking chair. I dont know if any of those things work, but maybe.

How many weeks did u start all of the?

Sex is out of the question for me as I have bad SPD and baby is breech at the moment to so hoping it turns soon

I started at 37 weeks. If anything else, walking and excercising will keep you fit for the time of labor. My pushing part took only like 5 minutes, which they told me it usually takes about 2 to 3 hours for the first time deliveries. I was happy with that.

Wow congratulations!!! Your story gives me hope that my possibility of having a VBAC isn't unattainable!! Thanks :)

This is a awesome birth story! I myself, am aiming for a vbac and this was truly positive! All in the niche of time too. :haha:
Moving and staying at home it looks like whenever he decides to make his appearance. :D
CONGRATULATIONS! :D
