Hi,

So at my scan last week the sonographer commented that the nasal bone wasn't visible but didn't say anything else so I didn't think anything more of it.

However I've just come across something about it which made me research it more and it's all a bit scary in relation to Downs Syndrome. Apparently a none visible nasal bone can be seen as a soft marker.

I was only 11+3 which I'm hoping played a part. Baby was very active and wouldn't get into the right position, too.

Also my adjusted risk is 1:20864 and the NT was only 0.80mm so very low but I can't stop worrying.

In the last week I've got gestational diabetes and I already have low progesterone. Feel like I'm waiting for the 3rd thing to go wrong.

Does anyone have any personal experience or knowledge on this?

Xx

I got told this when I had my 12 week scan too. My advice, don't worry. Your odds are great and there would be other signs if your baby did have downs. My Dr told me it also depends on race as some naturally have smaller noses. My little man is fine, and has the cutest button nose ever. Your baby will likely just have the same. They'll thank you when they are older, tiny noses are adorable.

I'm hoping that's the case. My brother said they couldn't see my nephews on their nuchal scan either and he has my nose. It looks like I have no bridge but very small, people love to tell me how cute it is haha.. Hopefully my baby is just the same :) Thanks for your reply xx
