Hi ladies
I have had three miscarriages. The last was 6 months ago. Still no sign of a new pregnancy. It took ages to conceive last time despite perfect BD timing, so I am not overly surprised.
Anyway I am starting acupuncture to help with this journey that we have been on for 2 years so far. I am using it to de stress and to lower levels of NK cells.
Is anyone else using accunpunture?
Would love to hear from you
Xx

Hello Darling, i am not too hot on the benefits of acupuncture but wanted to ask if you have had any input from doctors about what is causing you to mc, has anyone talked to you about taking a baby aspirin ( 75mg) when pregnant or ttc?

Hi Jessicahide
Thank you for your reply.
I had all tests done on the NHS and no cause was found. We are in the 'unexplained' catagory. My last baby was also tested for chromosomal abnormalities and that all came back clear. Nothing was wrong with baby. So we got discharged and only car being offered is regular scans in the first tri if/when we get pregnant again.
The doctor who did my last D and C mentioned to me about blood thinner and asprin. But when I saw the consultant he said it's not necessary as I have no clotting disorders. However I have got 75mg of asprin ready and waiting incase I get a BFP as I want to take it anyway. Also next time I am going to continue with omega 3 and vitimin D3 as I stopped it last pregnancy.
The reason I am being treated for NK cells is because my accunpunturists thinks it may be the problem. She treated my cousin who also suffered from RPL and she now has a week old baby. She had elevated levels of NK cells.

I think if your cousin benefitted from it, it may well well work for you too xxx I only say about the aspirin as it's helped so many women improve blood flow to baby xx i personally take aspirin all through my pregnancies as well as blood thinners ( i have a clotting disorder, but was fortunate not to suffer mc, fairly rare) but i know the aspirin alone helps many women. xxx

This is what I am thinking. Anything is worth a go. I really don't want it to take nearly a year to conceive again just for us to have another loss. We really need a sticky bean now xx
I have also heard good things about the baby asprin. My cousin also took it and was ok. So thinking that is also worth a go.
I can only try these things and see if it helps. Obviously we are worried about MC again but we are just worrying about the ttc part for now as that is a big challenge in itself. Hopefully the accunpunture will help as the longer it takes the more stressed I become xx

Hi Trying

I could have written your post! We are doing exactly the same. 3 MCs, tests came back as unexplained. Been trying since 2011 and western medicine (NHS) doesn't seem concerned at all or to want to investigate. Started acupuncture with Chinese herbs in May and was told to wait 2 months before trying so we did. This is my first cycle TTC with acupuncture and I'm currently in the TWW.

How are you finding it so far?

Hi minimoocow

Thank you for your reply. I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one trying out accunpunture.
So sorry for your losses. You should e been trying. For so long, must be very hard on you and DH. I am getting frustrated after 2 years. Feels like the journey is never ending. I am sure that you know what I mean.

Like you the NHS don't want to know really. They said that we have a 70% chance of having a live birth eventually. Only support offered is two weekly scans in the first tri. So this is what lead me into accunpunture. I need to try something, anyhing.

I had my first session last week. I can away feeling very emotional and deflated. But apparently this is normal at first.
How are you finding it?

Good luck with your TWW
I am on CD3. This will be our 6th cycle post MMC

:hugs: Sorry you are feeling deflated, but if you look at the + side of that being a "usual" feeling after starting the treatment that means you are susceptible to its effects if you know what i mean. <3

Yep NHS said same to me! If you get pregnant again call this number! 2 of my losses have been before 6 weeks and the second was later but baby only measured 5.5 weeks so by the time I get an appointment it will already be too late :-(

I've felt ok following acupuncture but it does depend on what points she is using. Some sessions are more relaxing, some invigorating! I don't know what she did to "support ovulation" this month but I had loads of EWCM so whatever she did worked!

Are you having herbs as well? My practitioner says acupuncture is more effective when combined with herbs.

What have they diagnosed you with? I think I am "cold" as a result of kidney yang deficiency. Been told to avoid ice cream at all costs and eat hot food which is a bit rubbish in hot weather!
