Has anyone else experienced this? For the last few weeks I have had a dull aching pain in both my upper arms and shoulders, especially during the night and on a morning. Midwife said it is a common side effect but having suffered from pre eclampsia before I'm reading it is also a symptom of that. I'm only 15 weeks tho so thinking its too early to have signs of that, so hopefully worrying about nothing!

i have those aches from just sleeping on my side.

Sorry I haven't had this with any of my pregnancies. I would ring your midwife back and ask her if it could be an early sign of it and let her know that you're still concerned.

Oh my gosh, I started getting really achy yesterday. I thought it was something I might have done the day before but I still feel that way. My shoulders, arms and the top half of my back is just really sore, like I worked out. I had my husband give me a back rub last night but it didn't do much. It didn't even occur to me that it could be pregnancy related. It seriously feels like I've been lifting weights!

could be hormones loosening up muscles for sure.

Well I thought it was the way I must of slept but the aching pain hasnt eased, I googled it and you don't realise how many side effects/ symptoms come with the joys of pregnancy! Just with me having pre eclampsia in my previous pregnancy I am obviously going to worry.

I've started having this too this week at 25 weeks! I think it's loose ligaments but will ask my dr at my appt today. Feels like when I had a flu shot-- annoying!

Yes my doctor said it's from the hormone relaxin which helps the pelvis stretch and prepare for childbirth but it loosens all joints so that's most likely what my shoulder pain is as well. Oh fun.

I haven't experienced any shoulder pain, but lots of wrist pain. My doctor said it's very common and is caused by the increased blood volume putting pressure on nerves. She basically said there is nothing i can do for it and that it'll probably get worse until the baby is here. Oh the joys of pregnancy.
