Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs for PCOS

Hi, i am on my 5th session of acupuncture and just started to take the nastiest tasting herbs ever twice a day put together by a chinese herbalist. Today had an ultrasound and it looks like i do have PCOS.

Just wondering if anyone else out there has PCOS and is having this treatment too?

I don't have PCOS but have been having accupuncture for about 6 months with someone who specialises in fertility. One of the first things he warned me off of are the chinese herbs given for fertility. I believe there is evidence that the herbs can adversely effect fertility. I know the chinese shop places give out herbs, but my bloke is very knowledgable and he says there a no-no.

Hi Carrie - I'm currently having fertility treatment in the UK and they have placed several warnings in the clinic and on leaflets about using chinese herbal medicines as they say these have been proven to adversely affect fertility and have told us not to use. Please check this out, maybe consult your FS.

I'll echo what Miss Monty has said, lots of warning signs up in my clinic about Chinese herbs actually having a detrimental effect on fertility.
