adjusted age and first smile

I haven't posted in the premature section yet - although my baby arrived 4 weeks early after IUGR was detected, he weighed 4lb 8oz but was the picture of health!

He's coming on in leaps and bounds having more than doubled his birth weight and he has had absolutely no problems which I can hardly believe!

I am now (im)patiently waiting for that first smile, and wondering if the 6-8 week typical age for it is actual age or adjusted age? When did your LOs start giving you big grins?

Ours was about 12-13 weeks corrected, but she was 27+4

I think ours was about the same, she was 11 weeks early and we got a proper smile at about 17/18 weeks.

Rio started smiling properly at around 4 months, definitely later than a lot of babies x

My daughter was born at 34+0 weighing 4lb 8oz too. She smiled at 11+6 which was 5+6 corrected xx
