Advice needed!

Hi, me and my fiancé have been together 10 years and have decided to try for a baby when we come back from holiday in August. I have been on microgynon 30 for the ten years without a break, how long after coming off the pill do I have to wait to try and conceive? I have been advised to start taking folic acid now! Any suggestions? Thanks

best thing i want to advise is come off the mircogynon and see when you have your 1st true period...not the withdrawal bleed

i'd wait 3 months as it takes time to regulate your periods and for hormones to fully leave the body, friends of mine got preg within 3 months of leaving birth control and had M/Cs, so i'd advise you to wait until your periods are somewhat regulated. its been 7 months for me, and only now have my periods regulated. 10 years is a long time and with no break....wait until say your 3rd true period to properly start to try...

Also take pregnacare preconception tabs His & hers...for you and hubby, its not just you who needs the full vitamins etc..hubby does too, my friend used them and fell preg within 2 months. it just helps you get ready, get both your bodies ready so you can conceive.

oh sorry forgot you took birth control without a break!!

withdrawal bleeds are when you take microgynon for 21 days then 7 days off...sometime in the 7 days with no pill you bleed....due to the microgynon hormones depleting out of your body...so triggers a bleed

so i would think your 1st bleed after stopping the pill will be your withdrawal bleed having come off the pill...so the 2nd bleed will be your 1st true period....

Yes thanks! I'm so exited the time feels right! Were going to try when we come back off holiday in august! Others have told me to wait til I gave had one true period and try others say to try right away as I will be more fertile! I'm so confused as this is all new to me!

Good time to try, and being more fertile when coming off BC...thats a new one to me!! i would wait until 1-3 true bleeds then properly try, also take the conception pills...i am...i feel lots better

no wont matter..take it as soon as possible just to build up you and your hubby...

when you giving up the pills? remember 3 month wait n at least 2 true bleeds before you try for a baby

I was going to give up when we come back from Aruba in august but I finish a pack on Tuesday so don't know whether to come off then?

Entirely up to you how you want to do it...can stop them now and try on your holiday...or give up in august and then try end of year?

remember has to be a true bleed...not the bleeding you get after giving up the pill....so its 1 bleed...then 1 after that is your true period.

i thought one true bleed and would be fine..then my friends told me to wait until 3 bleeds as they got preg after 1-2 bleeds and had miscarriages...
