my hv has told me to put my 3week old on aptmil comfort bec of colic is the stuff any gd

Hiya

I bought Aptamil comfort a couple of weeks ago as I thought my LO was constipated - I tried it for a couple of days but had to stop as it wouldn't come through the teats, he would suck for ages and the bottle was hardly going down!. I found it much more thick/sticky than normal milk. So I just went bk to SMA and it turns out he's not constipated, he just has dirty bums every 4ish days.

Although I bought it for constipation, my LO had bad colic in the evenings for the first 8 wks. I tried everything then it just seemed to disappear. I totally sympathise with you though :hugs:

Good luck xxx

Its okay does what it says on the carton... :O) x

i tried him on it and he was really sick so ive gone bk to sma gold and ill just put the colief drops in again x

i found it a great success been on it for 11 weeks now. you will need either a fast flow or varifloe teat as it is much thicker. I have had a happy baby since chnaging over

I tried it for 2 days cos my LO had colic but it made his gas smell horrendous, it was like rotten eggs! Switched back to the normal aptamil and started using colief.

I got fed up with how thick it is. If you make it up with hot water it's fine but if not its a bit of a nightmare.

Don't be afraid to try another brand of milk. I was with baby #1 and I shouldn't have been as it fine to switch over. Just give it a week to work. We switched from SMa to aptimil and she is loads less gassy!
