Hi, I'm after some advise from anyone that has had a similar experience. A few months ago I started having pain in my left side mid cycle. I have always been regular as clockwork every 28-30 days without fail. Then after Christmas the pain started to become more frequent, again on my left side. It's been getting worse and so on Friday I went to see a Dr, she said she would refer me for a scan but could be months as I wasn't in enough pain to be seen urgently. The next day (Sat) I started to bleed now I wasn't due my period till another two weeks and when I checked I have actually had three periods (if you include this one) since 8th February, which is obviously not right for me.

It was very painful on the weekend and I was taking painkillers every four hours but rather than ring emergency I decided to wait till Monday (today) to ring the Dr I saw as she told me to ring if there was any change. I'm still in pain today but again not severe.

When I rang she wants to see me Wed for an internal exam before she sends me for an urgent scan. What she can see from the internal I don't know....I hate these things and don't wanna be messed with if it's pointless. I have not had a smear in 9 years (I have issues with this relating to my childhood and find all of this rather difficult)

Google brings up cysts, fibroids, cancer  anyone had anything similar. The Dr obviously not that bothered shes a registra so completing her GP training... but I am worried do I get a second opinion?

Been a forum member here for years and it saw me through my miscarriage and TTC so thought I'd pop back for some advise. Thanks ladies .. :hugs:

Love and :hugs: Let us know how you get on xxx

Hiya Hun. So good to see all is well with u. I have my apt in the morning will keep you updated. X

I had the exact same thing happen to me. Pretty persistent but not quite severe pain on my right side. I went for an vaginal ultrasound after my cycles shortened so much that I was at the very least spotting daily. It turned out I had ovarian cysts. The cysts threw off my hormones which in turn built up my uterine lining very very thick which caused me to first have the shorter periods, and then kept me bleeding for nearly three weeks in a row. My doc initially tried to place me on high dose birth control pills to try to re-regulate things but just a few days into that I woke up one morning in a pool of blood. I had to have an emergency D&C to clean me out.

It was a dangerous situation and as a result I had become very anemic.

I would demand the ultrasound and not leave without it. Would be a good idea to get a pap/pelvic while you're in to rule out anything else out just in case

Thank you for the advice. What an awful time you had. I had a pelvic exam and a smear but I was still quite bloody inside and the dr couldn't see where it was coming from. She is speeding up my scan so hopefully I'll get it sorted quickly. Keep u posted.

Good luck xxx Hope you get to the bottom of it xxx

I have appointment for ultrasound on April 1st, so keep you posted.
