Just needing reasurance really,Im on 2 daily injections as I had a Dvt in 2008 and I have fvl. This is my first pregnancy, went to lunch today with some colleagues and one told me she nearly died from hemoriging, sorry cant spell it!this happened after a planned cs and she wasn't on blood thinners. Now I've got it on my mind that I might!

Don't want to read and run but I don't have the answer

All I know is that you have to stop injections 12 hours before giving birth and take the clexane/hep for 6 weeks after

I am also on clexane which is being reviewed when I get to 12 weeks but I be putting my foot down to stay on them xx

Hiya, yeah my consultant told me soon as I get signs of labour to stop injections as needs to be 12 hours out of system if I'm to have a epidural etc, just scares me when people tell me they bled so much and not even on blood thinners!

I was on cleaxane from 34 weeks pregnant with my youngest due to a DVT and PE at 33 weeks. I had a planned CS at 38 +3 and was admitted to the hospital and put on IV heparin for 24 hours pre c section as apparently this is quicker to leave the system if I had gone into natural labour. I was back on clexane the following day and then Warfarin 6 weeks post delivery for 6 months (until Jan this year). I did not haemorrhage and I was closely monitored by haematology. We made a plan just before the birth too. Wishing you the best of luck! X

I had a DVT at 38 weeks with my first daughter so was on clexane for her birth - I was induced so stopped the clexane the day before I went in. I was nervous about possible haemorrhage and must have driven the midwife mad asking if my bleeding was ok straight after birth but it was fine!
I was on clexane from 12 weeks in 2nd pregnancy and went into labour naturally so stopped my clexane from when felt first contractions on Saturday morning - had her early hours of Monday and again my bleeding was totally normal.
I can understand your worries but I'm sure you will be fine :-)

Thank u ladies,I spoke to my midwife and she said I should take no notice of people telling me their scary stories and listen to my consultant, she's right

I was on Lovenox injections up until the day I delivered via c-section. I was scared to death but ended up having a perfect, uncomplicated delivery. They ran a bunch of tests on me and consulted with an extra anesthesiologist before giving the ok to begin surgery. I was in once daily lovenox (blood thinner) injections. My dr was not concerned about excessive bleeding at all. However, they were of course prepared incase that happened. This c-section went easier and recovery was easier than my previous non blood thinner pregnancy.

It's hard not to worry but not all stories are horror stories! Mine went great! I was scared sh*tless but it went great!!

I was on clexane with my first baby and went into labour two hours after I took it. Doh. I had a very bad delivery forceps and I was cut. Didn't have any issues with the clexane I didn't give birth til 14 hours after the injection tho...I was monitored the whole time and was taken good care of. On clexanes again this time. I have no worries at all if I have had the jab I have I know I will be monitored well and any sign of problems I will be looked after

more reassurance here, dvt 10yrs ago, was put on 2x injections daily in my last preg, and to stop at the first sign of labour., as it was, I was induced so was able to stop taking them 24hrs before. No issues at all for the labour/birth, restarted clexaine the next day for 8wks,

This pregnancy I'm back on clexane, 1x injection daily and plannning a homebirth, have to take injections to 37wks and then start again once baby is born.
