My boy is 8 months 1 week, adjusted age nearly 7 months,he has 4 bottles a day still, this is roughly our day

7.30-8ish am 6oz milk

8am weetabix and fruit

11am 4oz milk

11.15-11.30 am lunch

2.30pm 6 oz milk

5pm. Tea

6.30-7pm 7 oz

Will be wanting to drop the mid morning bottle soon and I have gradually reduced it down to 4oz as not much after he has his lunch,my problem is sometimes he will want the mid morn bottle before 11 so this is too early to give him is lunch and cutt the milk out isn't it? Just wondering what u all do

My LO is 8 months, 6 corrected and still on 4 bottles of 8oz a day. He dropped his 5th bottle by himself and I'll feed him his 4th until he does the same x

Ps. We usually give solids about a hour after a milk feed. Works well for us x

We pretty much had the same routine in terms of timings.

Quite soon after introducing breakfast LO dropped her mid-morning bottle. I found she was just having less and less of the bottle so I stopped offering it to her.

I think your LO will slowly take less and eventually drop it. You could try a mid-morning snack instead but I think as long as your LO wants it, keep giving him a bottle.

I currently give solids approx 1hour after milk. We are still on 4 7oz bottles. He seems to be drinking less from the 11/11.30am bottle or sometimes won't drink it at all but I think i will keep offering it until he more or less stops wanting it.

When my dd was a year we changed her morning bottle to rooibos (redbush) tea and she still had three milk bottles. Now at almost 14 months we are dropping her to two milk bottles and tea in the morning but we plan to still offer her tea in the late afternoon to give her enough fluids. Its really cold here at the moment so I feel bad just giving her water or diluted juice.
At a year I tried to change her to just three bottles but she started waking up at night so she wasn't ready for the change.
My suggestion is to offer a snack and water at around 10/10:30am.

Somewhere around 8-9 months my daughter stopped wanting the mid morning bottle, so we moved it to after lunch around 1pm (but she still had 4 bottles total during the day - 8am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm). Then around 10 months, she dropped the late afternoon bottle and we started to have a snack most days, so that's when she dropped down to 3. I didn't really encourage it, it just happened in time.

My son has 4 bottles in total but 3 during the day and then a night feed. Im wondering if I try and put another bottle in the day if he would drop the night feed maybe.
all his are 8oz so still getting 32oz per day

MindUtopia, just a question, what did you feed your LO in between her bottles? I have a very similar schedual as you, 8am my LO gets her bottle first, and then cereal, at 12 noon she has another bottle and lunch, at 4pm she has another bottle and dinner, and 8pm she has her last bottle before going to bed. I'd like to bump up that last feeding to 7pm and get her in bed earlier, because she is SO tired, but because her dinner is at 4pm, and by the time she finishes eating it's usually 5pm, that leaves 2 hours in between her dinner feeding and last bottle and she isn't really that hungry for it at 7pm. Opps and my Lo just turned 9ms on Sun

Im pretty sure (bad memory lol) my ds had three bottles a day 9 months because we went on holiday and he only had 3, morning, evening and mid afternoon. By 10 months he only had two, morning and evening. I never did anything to make him drop them though he did it himself, just didnt want them anymore.

Elodie changed to 3 bottles a day at about 8.5/9 months. She has 7oz at about 7.15am, breakfast at 10ish am, lunch at 2pm, 7oz at 3/4pm, dinner at 5pm, 7oz at 7pm for bedtime.

DD wakes up between 7-8 and has breakfast between 8-9

bottle around 10h30

lunch

bottle around 2:30-3

dinner

bottle at 7 then bedtime

She dropped her night bottle by herself about 2 weeks ago.

Charlie is only 6m and still has 6 bottles a day plus 2/3 meals so we have a way to go yet, but from what I did with my elder 2 and from the OP I would say that 7/8-11/12 is a long time to go from breakfast to lunch without something. Try swapping the milk for a snack like a fromage frais or some fruit and cheese. This will tide him over and allow him to get to lunchtime, plus it's good for them to eat something between meals as they need small regular meals. My boys (all 3 of them) have breakfast at about 7.30, snack at 9.30/10, lunch about midday, snack about 2/2.30 then tea about 4.30/5.

From what I can remember though Earl dropped to 3 before 8m, Edward was about 9m I think. I'm not expecting Charlie to drop before 8m if I'm honest as we're struggling to get him to have 3 meals every day due to his naps and how busy we are. It'll come though.

Ollie dropped his night bottle at around 4.5 months so was on 4 a day. He then dropped his late afternoon bottle at around 7 months. it was a gradual thing where he was only taking between 2-3 ozs over a few weeks or refusing completely.

Our current routine is 7oz at 8am, porridge or cereal at 9:15, lunch at 12/12:15 (he has a 90minute nap at 10am), 7oz at 1:30/2, snack at 3:30/4 (naps for around an hour at half 2), dinner at 5pm/5:15 and 7oz before bed at 6:45.
