Hi I hope you and your babies are all doing ok

I'm currently 32+2 and on Sunday night I had a small bleed. I went to hospital and was checked and told it was unexplained. Then on Monday I had more fresh red blood and large clumps of blood stained jelly.

I was admitted to hospital overnight and the bleeding stopped but I continued to pass lots and lots of bloody jelly. The doctors have said that I have had my bloody show but as I am not having contractions etc labour may not start yet. I've been discharged and told that if I get any more fresh blood or any contractions at all I have to go straight back in for steroid injections.

Did any of you lose your mucus plug before your labour started and if so how long before??? What are the chances of my baby staying put until he is term?? I asked the doctors and was just told to wait and see as they can't tell. I also asked if my plug would regenerate as I had been told they can but I was told that if you lose little bits of clear plug then yes but as it has been a huge amount and very bloody it won't as it is the part that actually seals the uterus rather than just a bit from the cervix.

Any advice would be really appreciated xxxx

Hi there :flower: I also had a couple of bleeds during my pregnancy, and started losing my plug at about 35 weeks. I think losing your plug isn't a definite indicator of impending labour, but I gave birth to my son at 36 weeks. I got the steroid injections once my waters had gone.

My boy came a little bit early, and he was just 5lb 5oz, but he is absolutely perfect! At 11 months old he's healthy and very happy. I really hope everything goes well for you hun, and that your LO stays put for a bit longer x

Thanks for the reply. I hope he stays put for at least another 4 weeks!!

They have estimated his weight to be about 4lb 4oz at the moment so another pound or two would be great!!

I lost my plug a couple of days before I went into labour, I was full term.

I have no advice, but didn't want to r&r.

GL honey, I shall keep my fx that LO stays put for the time being :D

:hugs:

I always only had my show on the day i have gone into labour so i cant be much help i'm afraid, but will keep everything crossed that your LO stays put for a while yet xx

With my first I lost my plug then about two hours later my waters started to leak then i had him the following day, with my second i think I starting loosing it gradually over two weeks :) x

I lost my plug with my first pretty gradually over 2 weeks. I don't remember losing my plug with my 2nd at all, oddly enough!

With my first, I would have a decent amount one day, and then not too much, and then another 'glop' as my DH refered to it... Because of course I was so excited I forced him to observe... Poor hubby. So it wasn't a steady loss, more like losing a bunch of little pieces of plug over time. Mine was clear/a bit greenish but became streaked with blood periodically. She stayed put for 2 weeks from when I first noticed it, but I don't think there was as much volume for me as you are describing.

I'm not much help, I've been losing my plug on and off since late 1st tri but its not a bloody clump, just small lumps.

Hope baby stays put a little longer for you! x
