advice please

hi been ttc for 29 months im at my wits end really our doctor reffered us for ivf and we had a letter to say we didnt meet the criteria but we have looked an we do meet it, so i spoke to our gp and she says that it might be because last november i got pregnant but miscarried in the january so they could say ive got secondary infertility surely this cant be true i mean i thought secondary was if u allready had a child and surely i still meet the criteria? please can someone advise me as im at breaking point i just dont know what to do or think anymore!!

I'm really sorry Afraid I don't have any advice, just didn't want to r+r. I don't live in the same area as you but my PCT's guidelines state if you have a "living child" you're not eligible. Do yours say anything similar? If it does I think that would give you grounds to appeal. I really hope they change their minds xx

Unfortunately, fertility clinics are very specific about what they want and if you have been pregnant before (whether you have the child or not) you don't qualify in most areas.

It's not the fairest system in the world but it's how they work. They have so many people wanting the procedures that they can do what they want.

You have the option to appeal though. Problem is, if the decision is overturned, it sets the precedent and opens them up to many lawsuits. Not something they will be willing to risk.
