Advice wanted! Please help...

I need to put my DD onto formula due to medication I'm taking, each time I offer her formula it sounds as though her whole world falls apart; it's breaking my heart...

I'm not sure what else to do?

She's weaning very well, and is will take water/juice from baby beaker, otherwise she's breastfed...

Upto now I've been offering the formula in a bottle... Only been able to get her to have two 3oz bottle's last Friday... (I've no idea why she took these and none since...)

what bottles are you using? also what teats? maybe shes finding it difficult to accept anything that doesnt resemble your breast? im not sure as i didnt breastfeed but i know the bottles i use are ment to resemble a mothers breast (closer to nature bottles) maybe certain teats will mimic the flow from your breast more than others?

Ok hun a few things you could try, maybe the heat of the milk? as above the teat - as the breast is what she is use to there are some out there that are closer to the natural nipple than others also there are wide neck and normal teats, the wide neck i believe are bigger? other than that you could persist (although i know your baby crying breaks your heart!) or i would offer her the milk in a beaker (at least she is getting some) also make her food with formula too. I'm using the closure to nature teats and bottles... She'll drink water from a beaker LOL and I'm using milk in her food. Guess there's no easy way just to persever...

I only breastfed for 2 weeks with Evie but when I switched to FF, she wouldnt take cold formula. No way. She'd push out the teat or grimace at the milk in her mouth. Once I warmed it up a little, she guzzled it down and has done ever since. Even now she wont take cold bottles and has to have them warmed up. Maybe give that a go too if you havent tried that already?
