Hey girls!

Being my 4th baby i thought my story would be a bit different... but after a lot of starting and stopping over the last week, i finally went into labour on on my own, yesterday at 4am.

Finally made it out the house by about 9am and hubby and I decided to go walk the shops like we have done with our previous labours. (nowhere else to go around here really...)

Well, we managed to have coffee, have a smoothie for lunch, watch a 14:15 movie and only around 17:30 did we decide to make our way to the hospital to go check things out.
Contractions were pretty much on top of each other by now, about 2min apart.

On the way there we got stuck in traffic!! how typical! :haha:
Got to the hospital and i was 6cm dilated at around 18:15.

Normally i go pretty quickly from 6cm to 10cm but this time it took forever. Dr. came at around 19:45, checked me and still only around 6cm.

20:45 - 7cm... taking way longer than any of my other labours.
So Dr (that has delivered all my other babies) decides to pop out of the hospital, which i was very comfortable with. I was only 7cm dilated, baby handn't descended enough yet, so we all thought a few more hours. Hubby and Dr keep in contact on whatsapp.

Anyway, 22:00 - big pop, there go my waters and then the movie starts! Midwife trying to get me not to push, hubby calls Dr back ASAP. Midwives start delivering the baby as he was not waiting and Dr made it back just in time to catch.

Baby Rio was born on the 17th June @ 22:17, 41+1weeks, measuring 21.26inches and weighing 9lbs4oz BIG boy!!!

As for me, no stitches, no tears, no grazes and feeling super! My body must think this is completely normal by now!:haha:

I am so over the moon the happy! :happy dance:

Hope you all have a delivery as easy as mine, just shorter labours! Good luck to you all. xxxx

That sounds like a great birth, congrats!

Congratulations! Thank you for sharing your story!
