I just gave birth yesterday and notice when I sit or stand my farts come out without me noticing!! This is embarrassing and in scared its gonna last for long time. Has this happened too anyone? Advice???! Pls!!!!!

This happened to me too for a few weeks after giving birth but the good news is it does go away lol!

Ooh kel i remember you from preg boards, how did your labour go? Boy/girl? Name weight, just your birth story really?? Hope ya doin well besides the slippy trumps lol x

I had this and it took a few months to regain control. I think it stopped all together 3-4 months PP, but I had a large baby and I think giving birth did a real number on my pelvic floor. :(

Aww, don't worry! The day after I gave birth I completely pissed myself, my gown was soaked, puddle on the floor and everything. It does go away, no fear :)

After my first if I was sitting for any length of time I would pass wind every time I stood up - so embarrassing. Got gradually better then went away after a couple of months (yes, months .... Sorry!). I assumed it would be the same 2nd time round, but never had any bother this time. :hugs:

Totally normal. Your insides got toally re-arranged and your pelvic muscles got abused majorly. Take it easy, rest and do your exercises when you can. Gradually try to do more day by day and your body will soon be back to normal. Don't worry. :flower:

And Congratulations!!!

Oh I remember that! I remember the worry of really embarrassing myself! I don't remember it lasting long though - maybe a few weeks? Once my stitches began to heal, I did some pelvic floor exercises which helped.

I do still occasionally wet myself a little when I sneeze and my LO is one!

Oh thank god! I worry myself wayyyyy to much. Feels so much better when others have experienced the same thing. :)

For the first 72hrs or so after I was insanely gassy and it was uncontrollable but it soon passed [no pun intended :winkwink:]

His name is Kydin. 6 pounds 7 oz. ill make the story short and sweet lol. Was in pre labor for about 3 days only had contractions at night time, kinda painful but liveable. On the third day I had my membrane sweep and doctor said I would have him tonight or the next day. I was 2-3 cent dialated. 1030 came around I was in bed trying too sleep then BOOM sounded like a shotgun exploded in my uterus. Waters broke nice. I knew that I had to go to the hospital fast because I knew contractions would come fast and boy they did. Hard and excruciating!!!!!!! Got my epidural after an hour and felt awesome!!!!!!!!! Pushed for 50 min with assisted vacuum. Tore 3rd degree. Ouch!!!!! I tried so hard not to have that as I did kegels 10x daily, worked out every single day! No lie I worked out the night before labor. But there is really no preventing tears I guess. Maybe there is on the doctors side who knows. But oh we'll I'm sure it will heal in time. I love my little muffin!!!!!!!!

awww lovely name :) ouch sounds painful Hun , but like u say its all worth it for your baby :) welcome to the baby board too :) xx

I lost control over everything.....EVERYTHING! It will get better!

I had this. It started when I got my epidural for some reason. Then, when i had my daughter I had a 4th degree tear. I was stitched up and it healed, but sadly they still slip out at times! It's horrifying. :nope: I'm only 23 and feel 80.

I've been doing my kegels like mad!!!!! And it actually stopped a couple 4 days after. Thank god! I thought I was gonna have another issue too deal with.?

I had this for a few weeks and it was totally embarrassing. When i had charlie i was on the ward for a few days and had absolutely no control whatsoever i was mortified at visiting time. Its better now though. :)

I had this too, the quickest way to get it under control is to do pelvic floor exercises to tone the muscles again, it's just because everything got stretched during labour

Besides kegels what else should I do?

Are you working on building your core again, as Your pelvic floor and core are linked so you need to do both. The other thing you could check, is that you are doing your Kegels correctly. I saw a private women's health physio (as the NHS one was useless) and she said that I was contracting the front part of my pelvic floor, but you're supposed to contract the back part (as if trying to stop wind). I wish I had gone to the physio sooner, she really helped my recovery

The problem solved itself!!! It only last 3 days after giving birth and now it's 4 weeks post. I guess it's normal too have that for a couple days after giving birth since everything is stretched out.
