I thought this section may be best for advice on the subject :) .
Me and OH have had a very lengthy conversation this morning , About how nice it would be to help some one else out .
So i have decided iam going to donate some of my eggs after i have had this baby :) .
I just wondered whats involved if anyone knows ??? , And who would need my eggs ie = What stops a woman producing eggs .
I hope i have worded this message right and not caused any offence , It is something i feel very passionate about and really would like to may someones life special by helping .
Thank you . x .

I think this is a wonderful thing for u to be doing. I would have thought the egg retrieval would be similar to egg retrieval for IVF. Which i think means hormones, scans to see how many eggs are there, and then a laparascopy to retrieve the (key hole surgery) The kind of woman who would need your egg's maybe at an age where her eggs aren't good enough, or maybe she is going thro early menopause, or her egg's just aren't of good quality.

I'm no expert so not sure how acurate that is, but i think what ur doing is amazing :hugs: XXX

Thank you soo much for the advice , Even is its all little uncomfertable .
If i could give some one the joys i have had it will make me feel happy :) , It is something that if i can do i 100% will do . Thank you . xxx .

Someone else investigated this a logn while back, you start by seeing your gp and go from there. I think they test you to see if youre suitable.

It is a lengthy process. Its the same as IVF, meaning you go through everything up until egg collection, which is done via ultra sound. It is an extremely emotional and painful process (IVF) but i'm sure the feeling of helping other couples would outweigh the negative.

Not sure what its like over there, but you do have to have mandatory counselling. People needing your eggs would be women without ovaries, women with poor quality eggs, early menopause etc.

but dyknow wot i dont understand? is that men get paid 4 sperm donation, then women pay 4 it aswell...but with egg's they lady using them pays for them but the lady donating them only gets paid for any expensives ?!?! think this is a little unfair as the lady who wanting the eggs pay a lot, yet the lady donating them, only gets expensives paid! i wud defo do it me sel, i want 2 babies then i wud do it but i sud try my best so that the lady paying is payin u n not someone eles, obviousley u nedd a medical team2do it...dyknow wot i mean, i will defo look in2 more when ive had my own children :)

Thanks ladies good points raised ..
I am wide opened eyed that it may be a difficult process , But with OH supporting me and with me having my full family (No more children after this one) . I hope that iam prepared once i have more info to go full steam aihead .
I never thought about Money , Obviously i dont want a penny for helping (I hope some one would of helped me if i hadnt of been able to concieve) , So its from the goodness of my heart Money isnt an issue ..
But in saying that i cannot afford Medical treatments , And i would hate for some one to have to remortgage there home to afford my eggs !!! .I just want them to go to a happy family without all the worry stresses (Am i been a little nieve??) .
I think i may have to start some more research to see how it all works , As it sounds not as easy as i thought lol , I love a challenge . xxxx .

I remember reading an article re donating eggs vs being paid etc. I think the main concerns are people from poorer backgrounds seeing it as a way of making money and not realising the implications or the fact it could damage their own fertility. Bit like selling a kidney for money....okay maybe not like selling a kidney but you know what i mean!

I think it's a very noble and selfless thing to do hun. It is a big deal though but i'm sure anyone would be grateful. Hope you have a very happy and healthy 9 months xx
